How many times are you going to let John Fox fool you?

How about a set of back-to-back winning seasons? John Fox is going to tie the record for most years coached without a set of back-to-back winning seasons in league history. If the Falcons win next week, the Panthers will be the only franchise in the league without back-to-back winning seasons along with the Texans.

Atlanta is going to have their back to back winning season this year. They still will be on the couch with us in January.

dont worry. every one is riding the emotional high from this win. everything looks better after a win. i bet if we didnt blow them out but squeaked by they wouldnt be saying the same thing. just two weeks ago the same people defending fox were asking for him to be fired. one game cant save a coach. this is not college football. jr should look at the entire package before deciding. 3 playoff winning seasons out of 8 and no back to back winning seasons is a bad mark on any coaches resume.

my question is this if someone told you guys you could get a new coach and his last team never had back to back winning seasons and 3 playoffs seasons out of 8 would you want him? ask yourself that.

Please define "consistency" and which teams meet your standards of consistency. I think we're 2nd in the NFC in total wins since Fox got here in 2002. Also, off the top of my head I can think of 4 teams who have been as or more "consistent" than the Panthers: Philly, New England, Pittsburgh and Indy.

Of those 4 teams, Philly has been to a Superbowl and lost, Indy has only been to 1 Super Bowl. Only Pittsburgh and NE stand head and shoulders above the Panthers with multiple SB titles.

In that same time frame the Panthers have 2 division titles, a super bowl, 2 nfc title games, and 3 playoff appearances.

So we have basically been a top 5 team overall since 2002, yet you are asking for more consistency. Sure we'd all like to be in the playoffs every year and contend for the title every year but the reality is that it just doesn't happen in professional football.

No, stop making a good point. They won't listen, they're too busy trying to figure out how it could be Fox's fault Steve Smith broke his arm, and how it's not his fault Stewart ran for over 200 yards.

As I said in another thread, let Richardson make the decision in the offseason. No amount of your incessant b*tching on the message boards will change his mind. Fox will stay or go, for better or for worse, but for now enjoy the win.

Fox deserves an extension, it's plain and simple. The Panthers had NOTHING to play for and we just beat two playoff-caliber teams. Matt Moore should be the starter next year and Delhomme should stay as the backup QB.

I agree. Fox is a good HC who made the mistake of sticking with a QB who had lost his ability to play the position. Imo Matt Moore has earned the right to start as our QB next season, and Fox has more than earned the right to be our HC next season. I think this team, with all the talent returning from IR, and a good QB at the helm, our new Tampa-2, and the best rushing attack in the NFL, should be a terror to any team. No way do I want to burn it down and start over. I don't give 2 sh!ts about the whims of some fan who has a new 'flavor of the month' coach he/she likes over Fox. F@ck rebuilding.

Now I do think we need to make quite a few changes.

First FIRE Danny Crossman. Our ST play has been high school level nearly all season.

New QB lineup:

Moore

McCown

Delhoo.... Delohhh.. sorry almost threw up :puke:. Jake

Cut Jarrett. Try to draft at least 1 WR, and try to get a big time FA WR.

We're really in a good position going into 2010, so long as Matt Moore keeps improving and playing smart. Matt knows when a sh!t play has been called, and he throws it out of bounds. Like today, he rolled out of the pocket, saw 2 recievers bunched together and covered, his brain concluded (TARD PLAY CALLING) and he threw it away. Well done Matty... well done.

Posted this in another thread but the debate is over here so...

Fox still should be gone, he ruined this season by keeping Jake in there.

I mean he repeatedly stated how one of the worst QB's in the league gave us the best chance to win. Man doesn't even know his own team, just look at Moore now.

How long before we suffer from a huge sore thumb at another position that he doesn't know how to properly evaluate.(such as FS for example)

How awesome will it be when Delhomme beats out Moore in Foxy's "open competition" during TC next off-season?

Provided we retain Moore.

There's no need for an Open competition next Off-season unless we bring in Flacco, Ryan, or Drew Brees, ATM Matt Moore is the best QB on this roster, and the QB we need to get back to winning.

Fox took to long to realize this mistake and easily cost us a shot at the playoffs, and a very weak playoff line-up to boot.

I'm sure Moore can work on his oral services during the off season to match Jakes.

Fox's training camp decisions on who starts and who sits isn't totally based on who is better on the field you know.

Besides how awesome will it be when Moore decides to take a starting gig somewhere else and not even return to this team?

I think Fox is a good coach. He does a good job motivating a team through adversity. His biggest fault this year was believing he could ressurect Jake. Even after many of us fans knew Jake was done, Fox still believed it could happen. Delhomme played just well enough against Arizona, Atlanta, and even New Orleans to keep that dream alive for him. Unfortunately, that was not to be. I think he truly believed Jake gave us the best opportunity to win. He was wrong, but I highly doubt he gets fired for it.
