You cant name one person or source that was calling the texans wr core talented coming into the season. It was people on this very forum saying stroud would struggle this year because he had no talent around him compared to ohio state. Its the biggest horse poo talking point going on right now.

Just because some preseason ranking it doesn’t mean crap.

Just because Nico Collins may have been WR51 in your Fantasy WR rankings coming into the season.  Doesn’t mean he could be better than that or worse (see some of our WRs who some over inflated)

Ill take game film over some preseason fantasy rankings,

Sorry, film don’t lie.

Back in April I called it that Bryce wouldn’t make it to week 8. I’ve been consistent saying he would bust. When it is finally obvious to the majority I will be here waving at you.  He shows zero “it” factor, he looks slow, he has almost no zip on his passes and he looks like a fish out of water on the field in every aspect. He played in a college program with the most elite players at every position playing against inferior talent 75% of the season,  making him look way better than he actually is.
I have no doubt Young is super smart and can process things quickly, but he lacks NFL level skills and talent. I think he processed our  brain trust at these dinners and  snookered them.

I think it's because size taken out of the equation, Young was the clear better prospect.

Coaches are arrogant who think they can solve a problem like a small QB by being smarter than everyone else.

Fans are afraid of injuries (particularly thanks to the rise of fantasy football) and thus couldn't get past the injury concerns.  I personally always said his size was the only reason I didn't want him, not even his height, just didn't think he was ever going to have a chance at staying healthy long term.

I thought Stroud had the highest floor with still a high ceiling. I did think he needed a decent OL, but he is making it work in Houston without one. A lot of football left to play in this draft class’s careers so time will tell.

David Tepper ruined this franchise. Back when JR owned the team, we weren't nearly as bad as we are now. We at least had a a winning season every other season. In the JR days the longest stretch of losing seasons was 3 years. With Tepper we have now had 5 straight losing seasons and staring at a 6th.

He is awful, he ruined this team by him and his wife meddling in the team operations too much. His football IQ is nil and consistently makes bad decisions. Anyone in that front office should do the exact opposite of what David Tepper says, because that would be the right decision.

Awful owner. Worst in the league by far. Enjoy losing for the next 15+ years boys. We are never going to have a winning season under Tepper.

How are your other 23' draft picks performing?

Horrid. Absolutely horrible.

Mingo (2nd) looks like he is on the terrace marshall jr trajectory

DJ Johnson (traded up to 3rd for him) is a 25 year old project who hasn’t even gotten a game jersey the last two weeks

Chandler Zavala - maybe the only contributor not named Bryce but hasn’t looked great

Jammie Robinson - has also been inactive on gamedays

This doesn't matter or prove anything in some people's minds. All that does matter to them is that Tepper's wife hugged Young.

People had their minds made up after Strouds pro day and planted their flag.  They were convinced he was the pick primarily based off reactions from our whole caravan of people there.

And even though every national analyst (other than Simms and his crazy takes), Bryce was the top prospect pretty much across the board.  It didn’t matter.

Then when the dust settled, and reality set in.  People got all bent out of shape.

So one can’t improve over time?

He’s been one of the biggest surprises across the league this year.

I could care less about his film from last year.

Its not July and I’m not drafting my fantasy draft right now.

But I am looking at film through the first 3 weeks of the 2023 season.  Which many around here clearly haven’t watched

    • The other draft picks have turned out pretty well. Brooks will too.
    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
