First off I want to wish all of Carolina Huddle a Merry Christmas and happy holidays. I was just recently thinking of next years team and how excited I am for the 2010 season, ecspecially if we finish this season strong. I for one have been a big advocate of bringing back both John Fox and Julius Peppers next year, and really want to see this core win a super bowl. Going into next season, are you guys comfortable with the current players on our roster at d-line?

I know going into the season DT was a big issue, but some players seeemed to step up. I love our DE rotation and hope that stays the same. So looking into next year are you comfortable with this?

Julius Peppers: Bring him back, he showed Sunday how good he is

Tyler Bratyon: Very solid and wants to be back, good against the run

Charles Johnson and Everett Brown: Both young and full with potential

these four players can definitly create a pass rush.

Now for the DT position

Damione Lewis

Maake Kemoeatu

Tank Tyler

Louis Leonard

Hollis Thomas

Corey Irvin

Are you comfortable choosing from those players or should we bring more people in, or are there bigger concerns?

Well this year draft is deep in DT.So we should take one.

Some good players prob will get cut.

Leonard and Tank Tyler are must keeps imo. Evaluate Kemo's progress and see if he can make a return. BTW I really like Hollis Thomas but I really don't know if his body can handle it. I'd be willing to part ways with Lewis I think he's just too average for what we pay him and a better starter should be in his place. Perhaps Tyler can take his spot next year.

It looks good, but I do see them bringing in some competition, and I also do not think Corvey Irvin will make the team.

DE

1. Julius Peppers

2. Tyler Brayton

3. Charles Johnson

4. Everette Brown

DT

1. Maake Kemoeatu

2. Damione Lewis

3. Hollis Thomas

4. Louis Leonard

5. Tank Tyler

I expect to see the release of...

DE- Hilee Taylor

DT- Derek Landri

DT- Nick Hayden

DT- Corvey Irvin

I would like the Panthers to take a look at...

DT- Kyle Williams- Buffalo Bills

DT- Tony Brown- Tennessee Titans

DE- Stephen Bowen- Dallas Cowboys

If Peppers leaves I would like the Panthers to look at...

DE- Derrick Burgess- New England Patriots

DE- Brett Keisel- Pittsburgh Steelers

DE- Richard Seymour- Oakland Raiders

DE- Kyle Vanden Bosch- Tennessee Titans

We actually have quite a few good DT's on the roster now. I'd still like them to draft the potential replacement for Thomas. I really don't expect Kemo to return, but I do pray that he does.

I like our ends. Peppers is a beast, and Brown is a playmaker. Brayton has been a steal for us.

Would be nice to see how the young guy they drafted to replace Lewis plays.

    • Man whether it's the Panthers or the Hornets it's crazy how many foolish talking heads there are in the local media. I just unsubscribed from locked on Hornets. Doug Branson with his cheesy mustache is an absolute clown especially when his partner isn't on. Talking about trading LaMelo because he can't win basketball games by himself with no semblance whatsoever of a legitimate Center. These YouTube personalities will say anything for a damn click.
    • I’m hoping for that exact same scenario, two seconds would be big for us. I’d hope for 3 impact players. A WR/DL/DE that can contribute like this current class would be key to our rebuild.
    • When I look at what I can find, a carryover problem from last season is our receivers are still unable to get enough separation on a consistent basis. Canales is certainly better at scheming them open, like how he sneaked out Thielen for a big play. But then he's also having Thielen running routes he frankly shouldn't be doing anymore. I feel part of the RZ issues is not really having anyone - after trading Diontae - who can make those quick cuts on a short field to give whoever is under center a wider window to throw. We also only have one guy with blazing speed in Thompkins and from what I could see, he's really used more to draw away coverage. I bring this all up because what Canales needs for sustained success - other than QB - is the other receiver pieces we'll be getting in the offseason.  Otherwise, I have to say that Canales isn't as afraid to be aggressive offensively. As others mentioned, still doesn't run the ball enough at times. Finally, I still feel his playcalls still doesn't line up with his mantra of getting rid of the ball within x amount of seconds. Maybe I count too slow. Oh, and I'm glad Canales first game after a bye looked good. I feared he'd be like Ron Rivera where we would fall flat on our faces.
