i mean i know you're just trying to hurt me personally but the single trailer or commercial you saw isn't really indicative of anything since the virgins is intended to be something very specific that is anathema to strong performance and commercial acting is well commercial acting

thats a pretty good premise. what i have noticed about tv. the shelf life is shorter and shorter.

it's kind of interesting that you mention that because i have a theory that i'll expound upon if i ever go back to grad school that essentially culture and cultural "memes" to borrow a modern term have a half life dependent upon the boundaries of their culture and that these memes bounce and fade away like echoes and that the advent of modern media (internet, tv on demand, etc) have actually brought these walls rapidly together so that what once could exist for 10 years can now only exist for five.

a good idea like mine in the 80s could last far longer than it can now due to the advent of the internet as a medium to discuss, deconstruct, criticize, and eventually ignore the specific work. it's kind of interesting and scary.
