matt moore lovers..is he that good????

With every interception he made, Delhomme just took the air out of the fans , and more importantly, his team's sails. With Moore it is about hope. We all lost hope with Delhomme, but Moore is young and exciting to watch. He really wants to win. He looks like he is trying to win. AND HE CAN RUN, unlike Delhomme. AND HE DOESNT GIVE UP EVERYTIME HE GETS HIT, unlike Delhomme. To me Delhomme looks like he shows his ass if he gets sacked by throwing interceptions or fumbling afterwards.

I despise Delhomme as a QB and player for the panthers. This kid, Moore, may not be the future, but he sure as hell is fun to watch and can, unlike Delhomme, lead a reciever to the ball.

End of Line.

Exactly.

If he had the last name Sanchez, Stafford, Ryan or Flacco, his six games as a starter would probably be looking pretty good.

Or The Golden Calf of Bristol, or Colt Mccoy etc...

Some here (not many) seem more concerned about the name or the draft spot than they do about showing promise on the field. Personally, I think he has as much promise as any of the names I see mentioned here, and more than some. He may end up being a total failure, or he may end up being our best QB ever. Who knows at this point?

ok matt moore performed great last week,as a fan i m all for it. but i m seeing fans of the kid come out of the wood works like hes the chosen one. i hope he is the answer but im not selling the farm for him at this point. lets not forget last weeks performance and most of the vikings game the offense looked awful. i m not stating he isnt the future but i still think we should bring in and draft a qb. i just think now we can afford to take a wr in the second and wait on a qb later.

JMO......who know's, we'll have to wait and see. But it will be fun to watch the next two games win or lose.

Is he that good? It's all preference, I believe Matt Moore has the tools just give him real competition at being the starter next season if we do indeed draft a QB this year.

But his play in these past 3 games is not bad, not excellent, he's just playing Good young QB football which is what this team, and the fans needed at this point.

And like Zod said there's not many threads/post around here claiming he's the next Peyton Manning, he's being praised and rated just right.

The haters on the other hand..

he's certainly earned the last two starts of the year. And if he plays well in his last two starts he's earned a chance to compete for the job next year. And if he plays well during that time, I have no problem with him being the starter.

He needs to continually improve on his weaknesses as well. If he never hits the easy passes during his time like he's doing now he shouldn't get the job.

It cuts both ways. Moore haters are lined up to diminish what he has done, and Jake haters are crowning him as awesome. Most fans here are more middle of the road which is that he has had a good start but it has been rocky at times and he needs to improve. For me he is 2-1 which is all that matters.
this is something that you have been reacting to but i just don't see it being done. saying that he's better than jake isn't saying that he's awesome but everytime that someone makes a statement saying that moore is better or has done better, you feel it necessary to jump in and act as if they are proclaiming him awesome.

the bar is set low with jake. moore jumped over it. it wasn't a huge accomplishment but still he did it, regardless of what you say.

the numbers just flat out say that moore is better this year than jake. spin it however you want but that is the way it is. what is sad is that moore is doing better than an 11 year vet with 100 regular and postseason starts under his belt, not to mention the 1 superbowl appearance, 2 NFCCG appearances, and a probowl game.

moore, a scrub QB who went to 3 colleges only playing in two taking a break between to play baseball, undrafted picked up by the cowboys and placed on the practice squad, who had only 3 starts 2 years ago and who was the QB3 coming into the season....this guy has out played the best QB in panther history. i think this is what is troubling for a lot of people.

is acknowledging all of that saying that he is awesome or is a lock for the starting job next year? nope. i consider it just stating the obvious.

thinking that the kid has potential is very reasonable. saying that he deserves a shot at the starting job, especially if he continues to get better...reasonable as well. that is about all that you are finding from anyone.

Just as long as Jake Delhomme never starts another game for the Panthers I will be fine with whatever they decide. I can't handle him throwing tantrums and errant passes any longer. Matt Moore does not throw a pick every other possession and that is more than I can say for Joke.

Matt Moore shows promise and looks to be getting better. If we resign Matt, which we probably will, we should draft a qb anyway. If Moore turns into a legit qb & we draft one that turns out great then awesome. I would love to have a situation like San Diego did when they had Rivers and Brees. Not saying Moore is either of those guys but just saying how sweet would that be?

    • Oh he would absolutely flourish. It’s the panthers way. It’s no different with coaches. Sometimes they reach their expiration date, go somewhere else, and find new success.  Similarly to Burns, how long to wait for the light to finally turn on?  Market forces will demand a salary that the panthers can not responsibly match. Sliding him to guard will fit his skill set better, but he has played LT for 3 years. He will receive offers from other teams wanting to pay him LT money.  At guard, he won’t start with what they have paid Hunt and Lewis. Center then?? Dunno. Maybe? He will become a backup by default once they draft their stud LT. I doubt Dan just stands pat. That’s not his MO.  So where does this put him? Can you match what other teams will offer for a backup LT/guard? Do you dish out franchise LT $ on a guy who still needs significant improvement in pass protection. This team will be DOA in the playoffs with the very first team who has a formidable speed rusher. What if he has hit his ceiling in pass protection already and they sign him long term? It’s a big gamble either way.
    • We're in a great position to see just how big of a misstep it would be, having made so many ourselves
    • I didn't say I would have done it. I was just saying that I can see why some in the FO considered it. Everything was done to give Bryce weapons. Solidify the interior line thru FA. Get XL at WR in round 1 and then get the most talented RB in round 2. Take a TE in round 4, etc They were probably "assuming" he'd make a complete recovery during the 2024 season. I'm a skeptical person. I wouldn't have assumed he'd be ok in 2024. I personally would have taken another position in the 2nd for that very reason. But, if I were "influenced" to take him I would've argued to keep him off the field, especially seeing how things were going for us record wise. Conventional Wisdom says most backs don't get back to normal until two years after the ACL surgery. He was injured in Fall 2023. Having him suit up in 2025 would have been almost 2 years since the original injury. You have him for 3 year on low contract. If he balls out, you resign him for a couple of more years b/c he'd only have 3 years of tread on the tires. If he's ok but not great you let him walk.
