Yep, after being a complete waste of talent in every big game we've been in since 2002, one huge performance on primetime (after our postseason hopes have been dashed btw) is really making me realize how wrong I was about him.

The criticism of Peppers is baffling. The guy averages over 10 sacks a season. Give this whole lazy crap a rest. Last I checked he's out there playing with a broken hand, and doesn't complain to the media about anything.

The hostility towards Peppers is just coming from people who are angry that he would have the audacity to want to play somewhere else. Its his career, he can do what he wants with it. As long as he's been in Carolina he has been a consistent terror for opposing QBs. Give the man his due.

The hostility towards Peppers comes form knowing and seeing what he is capable of and very rarely seeing him play to that level. Peppers has the body and the physical gifts to be the best DE that has ever been and he fails to live up to it due to both his own will and a lack of coaching.

You just take out your frustration that Julius Peppers isn't the greatest DE ever by claiming that if he doesn't live up to that title he's underachieving. You don't know him or what his motivations are, seeing as he's given a lot of his career and been very productive for the Panthers he deserves the benefit of the doubt and support from Panthers fans.

Also that Peppers in my head has only been built up and is supported through observation, logic, math, and biology. Whereas your post that I quoted is built up and supported by nothing.

To some extent I can agree with you but under no circumstances should Peppers be getting beat by TE's and back up tackles.
