A shorter field both destroys Brees' chances at the record and let's us score in a quicker manner. The way our offense was playing Fox probably wanted us to have a shorter field so we could score quicker and htus you'd get the ball back with time, the Panthers defense couldn't stop them in the 4th.

so whats the excuse when he went to prevent defense and gave brees a 20 yd cushion on the final play.

He could have easily checked off to one of your backs and picked up the 16 yds.

Moore was wide open down the field and that's where Brees threw to, Moore just pulled up too quickly. Drew talked to him after the play about it.

I am sure Fox was totally oblivious of any record especially when he thinks stats are for losers. Records as well unless they are your win-loss record and they show you are still in the playoffs and going for the ring. Delhomme's best year statistically was 2004 when we finished 7-9. His best win-loss year would be this one. Which one do you think is most important. As it unfolded. the Saints lost the game, Bree's didn't get the record and they finish without a winning season for the second year in a row.

Meanwhile the Panthers finish as I hoped they would. Before the season started I said that to win all our home games, split on the road, go 12-4 and win the division would be a dream regular season. Except for the hiccup last week, this has great so far. Hopefully it continues.

I like the arrogance of Saints fans thinking that our faith in our defense was such that we would give them the ball on a shorter field just so they could hurry up and pound the helpless Panthers defense and we could get the ball back on offense to melt away the clock.

EL OH EL

Baker fuged up the punt. Bottom line. It goes against all logic to say that Carolina wanted the Saints to hurry up and score to take the lead. Had Baker gotten his foot on that ball, there is a pretty good chance the Saints don't even get into the endzone there.
