Sorenson a Moore hater

Actually he captures the reality for Panther fans right now. Moore has been less than stellar in 10 out of the 12 quarters he has played this year. But because he is not Jake and people hate Jake right now, they so badly want a starter who can play quarterback. And he is better than Jake right now, and he is the beloved backup and people love him.

In alot of ways for me Moore and Jake are similar. Both have questionable mechanics and at times can look very bad. But they possess another factor which should rank high on anyone's list. They have both won more games than they have lost. So far Moore has put together a fantastic fourth quarter and brought us back to win. Something Jake did routinely. If Moore can do that on a regular basis then I don't care what his mechanics are or about any other flaws. He will have passed my test which is simply win the game no matter whether it is with the pass or run. Of course he has to be able to throw it deep to Smith but he has passed that test already. Lets be honest, half the reason any of us watch the Panthers is to see Smith go deep and make a great acrobatic leap or take a short one in space and stretch it into a long gain with his running ability. One of the biggest transgressions Jake has made is fail to throw the deep ball to Smith this year. We can put up with alot, but Smitty has to get his yards and catches. If you can't do that, we have to replace you in a hurry. He has always had issues with picks, but people really grew tired of him when he couldn't find smitty and threw too many picks trying to do it.

Moore is really in a good situation. He is not expected to carry the team on his back, simply be effective, not turn over the ball, and hopefully make some big throws to Smith and win in the second half. And he could possibly do that. He recognized what doomed Jake and is not going to make the same mistake. And as long as he is better than Jake he will get a pass on everything else.

I think he has done enough to start in New York and I am looking forward to seeing him play again. I would love him to be even better in New York, maybe come out hot instead of cold and jittery. Still, there are going to be detractors, but in the end, the bottom line is wins and losses. As long as we win, it doesn't matter how we did it. As least not to me and I bet not to alot of fans.

No, I disagree, the dislike of Jake as a starting QB, it had nothing to do with Smith.

It had to do with Delhomme, single-handedly becoming a turn-over machine, and that trend started before the Cardinals play-off game.

Delhomme is finished.

Judging the way the Giants are playing, Moore will have quite an opportunity next week, against a team that has to win. I hope he does well in the next two games and shows constant improvement, then yes, he deserves a shot in 2010. The unfortunate reality is even if he doesn't, there is no other option.

I'm not sure if Moore is the answer, I want the Panthers to go after a blue chip QB. For the love of god, if they could give up a #1 for E. Brown, then they can give a number for a potential blue chip QB if the combine proves there is one that is truly worth it.

Whether Moore is the long-term answer or not is being debated in many threads right now. He may not be the permanent solution that the FO wants, but what can't be denied is that his confidence went up tremendously in one week. I know one week doesn't make a career, but there was confusion at the line in New England last week, a game ripe for winning. Lots of procedure penalties and sloppy offensive execution - Matt couldn't get the guys to line up right, it was a mess. Last night, he looked more comfortable, and for the first time, he looked to me to have the attitude of "this is my team" as opposed to "I'm just filling in." That can go a long way towards settling him down and letting his talent take over and showcase itself. I'm optimistic of this anyway.

All he's doing is trying to calm down the hype. They don't hate moore they just hate people annointing him the starter too early. We've been starved for quality football so it's easy to get drunk off one game (I know I'm going to watch this one over and over):D. People are getting very excited and saying some outrageosly postive things, so to calm the masses they are countering with overly negative things. Neither side is speaking the truth

Moore still has a very long way to go before he can be our starter. He has legitimate problems that hopefully can be coached up. Right now he's too inconsistent. If he wants to start he needs to hit the EASY passes. He also gets happy feet and could improve by calming down a little. I think these problems are fixable and I think he will improved with every game this season.

I'm excited about his potential, it's just not time to annoit him yet.

Correction: Tom likes flamboyant men who wear mink. Isn't that better? I think so.

And Tom, you know what has an even nicer sound? Super-Douche Sorenson. Pretty accurate. Attacking your readers: always classy.

Honestly I don't think Moore has happy feet. He pitter patters a bit because I think it's just how he feels the pressure, he doesn't look scared or nervous out there imo. I hope he is starting to find his grove. He's giving us something to be excited about like he did in 07.

True, it doesn't seem to affect his passes. I haven't watched enough to see if theres a correlation between his bad passes. I have a feeling there is but I could be completely wrong. It should get better with time.

Matt Moore could throw for 400 yards and 3 TDs a game for the next two games and I wouldn't care...I would still want to draft a QB. It creates competition and forces a QB to be at his best.

If the Eagles and the Packers can draft a QB when they have Donovan McNabb and Brett Favre, then so can we when we have Matt Moore.

If we don't draft a QB with our first pick this year then there is something seriously wrong with this franchise.

He doesn't really sound like a hater, just more realistic. However, I don't really understand how his critique of Moore was warranted. Don't these reporters just write on the obvious stuff? Shouldn't they analyze the game tape and front office news? His little blog seemed like just that, a blog; it was superfluous and not worthy of being in the Charlotte Observer.
