Boldin on the trade block?

Boldin has alot of talent and I think he'd be a good fit for the team if Moose leaves. That is if he and Smith dont get unhappy about sharing catches. Also Arizona is a passing team where as Carolina is a running team, so he wouldnt get as many passes thrown his way like he does in Arizona. Apparently Jarrett isnt going to step up like we thought, even though I havent seen were he's been given a whole lot of opportunites.

my thoughts from a thread someone started yesterday about this:

http://www.carolinahuddle.com/forum/carolina-panthers/27111-potential-trade-for-boldin.html

not putting much stock in it but that would be sweet.

he had mccown throwing to him in AZ a few years back.

at this point anything that makes the team better, i'm all for. getting him here would do that. if it cost peppers, i'd be totally ok.

a couple things to consider...peppers has his offseason workouts in arizona and has been going there for years. it's obvious that he likes the area. the cards aren't a bad team so it's not like we'd be trading him to the lions or anything. they've been to the superbowl more recently than us and because of the division are going to be putting themselves in a position to get there every year. he gets to play half his games inside....sounds like an attractive situation.

also, chike okeafor, bert berry, and karlos dansby all have contracts that are up after this season. okeafor and berry are both older than pep and play OLB in their 3-4 (more of a hybrid 3-4/4-3) so it wouldn't be as huge an adjustment as it would going to a pure one like in new england. the cards are going to need someone to come in there. plus both okeafor and berry play on the right side....that's where he wants to be anyway.

still a lot of speculating but i could see this having some legs.

as far as boldin is concerned...he wants to be there even less than peppers wants to be here. they don't seem at all interested in keeping him there. he has one year left on his contract and they have needs all over the place. boldin is a luxury there. bringing someone in to take over at ROLB is a necessity.

seems like it would be an easy trade. throw a couple meaningless picks in there and call it a deal.
