It's easy to talk poo from behind a PC to a Pro Bowl athlete, who has assets, and wouldn't fight anyway, unless it was self defense.. but anyway.. if Vick is an option, I see no problem with bringing him in, and letting him battle for the starting QB, if Moore wins, great.. If Vick, or any other vet wins, then so be it. Vick was never great, he just had great football speed, if he works on his accuracy, he could be a weapon, big time. I don't know where all these football genius"s on here, get all their divine wisdom, what I do know is 55 has been in the trenches, and has forgot more than 99.99% on this board will ever know. Vick could not win with two Good WR in ATL. What makes you think he can win with one good one in Carolina.

He did make it to the NFC Championship one year... and helped create the #1 rushing offense in the league for a few years. He targets the tight end and the screen pass should become effective with a successful run game. Just 2 additions to our offense I wouldn't mind watching every now and then.

Did you see the New England game or Tampa game? Steve Smith made last night exciting not Matt Moore. Vick would be exciting. Running, Passing, Wildcat etc etc. He's a playmaker.

I got to politely disagree & say Matt Moore is the answer. The last few games he been playing, I prefer him over Vick anytime.

I will agree with Dan-

Vick can extend the play, sell a lot of jerseys, and make Panther football something to talk about every week.

I hated Vick more than anyone, but I want to win football games.

1 game doesnt make Moore "the answer" thats foolish, and like saying Jake should be starting because he took us to the Super Bowl.

hey dan! this is the type of thing that you are going to have constantly if vick is brought in. i hope you understand that.

if he was here, everytime that vick has a sucky game (and it would happen) and people start complaining about him, you are going to have someone start running their mouth saying that the whole criticism is based on race. there will be those of us who just flat out don't like him and want nothing to do with him complaining about him the exact same way that people are complaining about jake...only they will be accused of being racist. if you ever say you'd rather have another QB than vick it's going to be because you would rather have a white QB or a black QB who acts white.

vick is a polarizing figure for a lot of reasons. it will ALWAYS come to this regarding vick. is this the type of 'excitement' that you are wanting for your former team? this type of attention?

I can see where Dan would like Vick, he played against him and knows what Vick could do. The key word is could do, not can do. Vick is the type of quarterback who doesn't last long in the NFL given what he brings to the table, speed and running ability, diminishes quicker than a guy who makes up for his declining physical skills with an increase in experience and understanding of the game.

Vick doesn't throw the ball well at all, and can't read a defense. He was a good running back and below average thrower. It makes no sense to pick him up at the age of 30 by next June when it is clear that running backs decline after that age. Plus 2 years out of the game did him no favors. He could be a role player in the wildcat and a backup, but he is clearly not starter material and would only be worth signing at a veteran minimum or close to that. Certainly not worth big money given what we will waste on Jake already if we let him go. Of course in the end it willl be finding the best of the rest in free agency if we go that direction. so he might look better much like women look better the closer to closing time.

he's been in here a lot recently and hasn't said much about race until this conversation popped up. it may happen more outside this forum but i don't really venture outside of here.

usually when the discussion is football or the panthers i like what he says. it's these discussions about vick that really get things set off.

I don't really care about excitment I just want to win....if thats Vick, Moore, Delhomme, Uncle Rico so be it
