This is a common sentiment outside the Huddle.

I'm not really for it for a couple of reasons.

Vick hasn't been an accurate passer.

Vick's speed and agility may not be what they used to be.

Other than his stats and game decisions I don't care about his past. Not about prison, not about dog fighting.

Let's not do this. I made an honest mistake; I called someone a troll who clearly was not, and could be empirically proven so, and I apologized for it.

And if we are defining "doing ass hat things" as calling someone who starts a "Sign Vick" thread a troll, then how many of us are guilty of it? I'd wager that you are as well.

none of them were dan morgan.

double standard? you bet.

Dan, loved you as a player, but I think you should stick to making pizzas and being a successful business man rather than being a football analyst. I think Moore provided alot of excitement in the stadium last night.

You're telling Dan Morgan, one of the best middle linebackers ever if not derailed by injuries, to stick to making pizzas? How about you stick to eating pizza. It's hilarious how you talk like you're qualified to make that kind of call and to disrespect Dan like that just because you disagree.

The man has been a lot closer to the game than you ever will be. Stick to making pizzas.... that's laughable.

Anyways, I think Dan's opinion on Vick may be subject to when he played against him as a player and he was a dominant force. I am not sure that the Michael Vick of today is the same player. I wouldn't be upset if Carolina went after him, but to think he's the kind of guy that could say... run for 100 yards in an NFL game to this day might be a mistake. I was never too high on his passing ability or his ability to actually be a leader in the huddle, but he has won a lot of games in this league and even some important ones against us.

This is why I would be most hesitant to sign Vick.

He's made some nice plays during his limited time in, but no one here knows what he will do in a full game. You could point to his years as a starter, but we just don't know if he's back to that level yet.

And I know I've said this before, but Vick has the obvious advantage of playing behind one of the league's best quarterbacks. Vick isn't driving his team down the field -- McNabb is. It's like McNabb does all of the dirty work and then Vick gets a moment of glory from one play.

So even if Vick is back to his former self -- and I don't think we can say with certainty that he is -- is that enough?

Why do people look at Vick as if he's a savior of some sort? I agree that he is an absolutely exciting player to watch when he's on the move, but teams have had success against him by making him PASS. He's an average passer at best. He's also fragile, so whatever benefits are gleened by him running the ball a lot are going to be offset by him getting beat up in the process, and the toll that will take on him, and thus the team he's on. A great arm doesn't do anyone any good if that arm ain't accurate.

Many of the experts and pundits have him pegged for St. Louis. It was interesting that before this season, those same experts had him pegged for here, that the 'Cats were the best fit for him, and they hadn't ruled out taking a look at him. I have no problem with him getting an audition, but I wouldn't guarantee him the starting job either if we were to do so. I'm just not sold that he's an answer, much less THE answer for us.

Speaking of saviors for a franchise: maybe Vick should go to Jacksonville. We need a savior that will win games, Jacksonville needs a savior who will put butts in the seats. They need an exciting player. They want The Golden Calf of Bristol, a scrambling quarterback with a questionable arm, why draft Diet Vanilla Vick when you can have the real thing? Plus, Jacksonville is as close to Atlanta as Charlotte is, so geographically there are probably just as many Vick fans there as in Charlotte. It sound like he fits the bill perfectly.

I think the reason Vick COULD be an asset here is as follows:

1. We want to be and are a run first team. A QB that adds that dimension would only add to our strength.

2. Our passing game has traditionally been a vertical passing attack...with minimal short to medium passes. Vick has a strong arm and traditionally threw a good deep ball.

I am not sure whether he would be a good addition or not. However, I have warmed up to the possibility alot over the past few months.

I would not be against bringing in a talent like Vick to add another weapon in arsenal.

Jacksonville desparately needs The Golden Calf of Bristol to put fans in the seats.

Vick is just like Parachute Pants. When they first came out, they were the poo, but eventually faded into the dark.

Now that time has gone on, and he is out of prison, he is just like any other old trend/fashion, a fad trying to find it's way back into the mainstream of the NFL.

It won't last long......so let it go people....please. Just let it go. If you can't, then just go out and buy yourself one of those snazzy AMC Gremlins from back in the days if you wanna go out like that.

Just saying...........

As it shouldnt be, nearly every "face" this franchise has had has been people who represent and look like them. Why would it be an issue? Part of being a black fan of the Panthers is knowing the chances you'll ever see a QB that looks like you are slim to none.

Yeah cause having Tony Dungy as our primary target for head coach heading into the 02 season was racist... How about our current franchise faces in Smitty, Beason and Peppers? Or better yet Sam Mills in the past? Oh better yet, we had a black starting QB for an entire year. Your bigotry never ceases to amaze me.
