I think there are better ways to spend that money. The first being giving it back to the people that actually earned it.

well it sounds like you need to get into politics and "make things better"....

Other than that- deal with it. It is what it is, and honestly, I am glad it bothers you.

My Grandpa always said; "if you aint pissing people off, your not doing the right thing"....

No, a great % of this country give lip service, which makes them hypocrites. A much smaller % actually attend church regularly, and an even smaller % than that practice what they preach.

And an even smaller % of that actually understand what they're preaching.

"there is no God season".... I guess you could call that tax time.

dude-- NEWS FLASH-- everyone is a hypocrite- EVEN YOU ....

Get over it, were Humans, not perfect, and subject to make no sense, screw up, piss people off, and not get along...

It happens, its called life.

And if you would worry more about getting along with those around you, rather than bitching about what they believe in because you have nothing to believe in you would be a lot better off.

You call others hypocrite's yet you are willing to take away something that they enjoy and are proud of because your feelings are hurt.

You claim separation of Church and State, when you mean; I dont want to see that jESUS poo even though its his celebrated birthday and the whole Nation is celebrating it, just because I dont believe.

You bitch about people forcing their beliefs on you, when you in fact are the only one trying to force yours on them by not letting them celebrate what is important to them...

Merry Christmas,

I hope you find Happiness in life.

I'm not taking anything away from anyone. Its not like I'm forcing you to pay taxes to support my agnosticism.

Not liking religious symbols on government property is tantamount to not letting someone celebrate? What kind of ignorant bullshit is that?

That's just like saying Bush banned stem cell research because he wouldn't fund it.

I'm not saying I'm not a hypocrite. But I don't go around bragging about being one, either.

I'm just sad that it doesn't bother you.

When government funded abortion rolls through Congress, I hope you have the same indifferent attitude.

This is socialism, pure and simple.

government funded abortion will happen, Im sure, because the lefties want it too.

just because its there doesnt mean that you have to use it..

Then its a personal choice.

I give ceasar whats due to him, thats what God ask.

ohh well...

If the government decided any of you couldn't put a nativity scene on your front lawn, I'd be just as irate. Well, more so, truthfully.

And that's what this is all about to me.

Man... Really- My only bitch is we have to stand FOR SOMETHING.... Honestly, just stand for something.

The USA has to be the 1st Nation in History that Stands for "do whatever the fvck you want, but dont offend anyone because what the believe in matters more than your own rights'...

( I guess Babylon gets #1- we all know how that ended)

All this is gonna get this NAtion is an implosion of differences. This Nation is going to tear itself apart.

I would rather the Nation stand behind its Christian foundations, allow people to exercise their own beliefs, but still be proud of our heritage.

But now days, thats not the case, its "you cant offend anyone" to the point that this NAtion has NO identity.

And a Nation who has no idea who they are is better off dead, or at least headed that way.

Im to the point of wits end.

You cant ride the fence, and as a NATION thats all we have done for the last 2 decades.

No wonder were about to see the fate of the Roman Empire...

No wonder...

A nativity scene does not offend me. It can not offend me. That would be impossible.

A government sponsored nativity scene bothers me for reasons that are obvious.

I would rather this nation adhere to its Constitutional foundations.

So, can you point to me proof of these "Christian foundations" in any of the early political documents or treaties that were signed and ratified in order to form this country?

In fact, Article 11 of the Treaty of Tripoli, signed by President John Adams in 1796, states "As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion;"

Anything to support your side?

No- The founding fathers despised the fact that religion ran the government in England so much that they made sure it was known that RELIGION would not be the deciding factor in making a law. (they wanted individual rights for everyone- even christians)

This was because religion at this time was more screwed up than it is now, and cost many people their LIVES because they were not able to express there differences...

this is not the case anymore, and neither is the lack of freedom. However, we have seen a complete 180 where now there is NO LINE DRAWN.....

My kid (2nd grade) cant pray in school, but he damn sure can come home and teach me a new Yoga move every week...

This is the BS that pisses me off.

if its not good for me than it shouldnt be good for you, but whats the purpose in believing in NOTHING- then we will become what we believe... Nothing...

And just so you know- I would never support a FEDERAL government owned- nativity scene...

But considering the fire house is owned by the CITY- then the separation of CHURCH and state just doesnt sound the same does it....

I love Jesus- but we need the Federal Government to do whats best in the interest of ALL PEOPLE when making law.

That has nothing to do with a Firehouse...
