A loss to the Saints on MNF would be as bad a start as the Panthers can get.

Wilks + a good QB would have meant more. It was Ron Rivera level competency which was a huge improvement over the Matt Rhule clown show running college schemes

Deep down everyone knows we made a mistake choosing Frank over Wilks.

My issue is not with not hiring Wilks. It's the fact they chose a coach who was fired. Tepper is clueless. At least hire someone who is more modern with their offensive philosophy.

Lol the Wilks slander on this board is hilarious.

Imagine beefing with the guy who cleaned up Rhule's poo and gave us a fighting chance to make the playoffs with Sam Darnold as his starting QB.

If Wilks is the HC all season we make the playoffs.

For real it’s like this fanbase will make any excuse to defend what, the highest paid assistant coaches in the NFL? A GM that has repeatedly made shortsighted and downright stupid decisions? This team is still a clown show with the appearance of legitimacy.

I look at it like the Cam situation. Ok, you want to move on from him I get.................But not for fuggin teddy Bridgewater. Might as well just stuck with Cam.

Same as Wilks, if you are going to another direction, Im fine with. But if you were just going to go get the coach who choked against the then 2-14 Jags to make the playoffs, then you should have just stuck with the guy who brought us back to a respectable level.

Ah, so that's what this is about 🙄

Yes and no

As I said, numerous times, I'm not writing him off or this season off yet, not remotely close.

My point is in response to you saying, "what did you want the staff to say?"

Yes, coaching staff's make public statements because they have to, but it doesn't mean they are telling themselves that behind the scenes.  My point is that if inside the building, they felt and knew this would be a rebuilding year, then the trade for a QB like that is beyond stupid, it would be one of the dumbest moves a team has ever made at the top of the draft.

My whole argument in this thread is that I think it's a garbage take to say this team is in a rebuild right now.  Every move they made this offseason is contrary to that, there literally isn't a single move they made that I can point to that says "rebuild"

From trading away what we did to get Bryce, to the staff we put together, to not trading Burns, even to the vets we brought in.  None of those are "rebuild" moves, they're moves you make to try and contend this year.  If you believe inside the building that it's a rebuild year, you sign young players with potential and you keep your future draft picks.

All I can do is laugh at the decisions this franchise makes. Tepper is a good guy, but man this franchise has gone downhill since he took over.

Like can we get at least 1 playoff appearance under Tepper. Every year it seems like we in rebuild mode.lol

Sorry, totally off base.

The first step of the rebuild they wanted to complete was to get a franchise quarterback to build around. Bryce is the guy they chose.

This is how it works.

Frank and Wilks are basically the same thing. One an offensive variant.  One a defensive variant.

and that’s what you get when you have egg on your face for going after something different in college.  An overcorrection back to NFL retreadville.  And then you surround Frank with dinosaurs like Dom and Caldwell lol.   Best thing about the staff was the coordinators and Frank won’t let the OC be the OC.
