The Game last night, A viking fan's perspective - sort of

I sold my tickets to a Vikings fan (well mostly her 13 yo son was the fan) and they had never been to a tailgate or game. They were the most gracious people I've ever met. Even though they had already eaten and didn't eat any tailgate food, they still contributed to the pot and had a great time. In prior experiences, Vikings fans have been very nice. I have nothing bad to say about them.

I agree.

The Viking fans were tremendous and certainly compared to the Eagles, Falcons (during Vick), drunk Packers fans, and my personal favorite, the Redskins fans, the Vikings fans were down right civilized. Most of them before and certainly after the game had little to say.

Of course, what can you say about grown people walking around with a set of horns on their heads.

The Falcons' fans during the Vick era, my God, bad, just bad.

Sorry,

I am a PANTHERS FAN...

Its the "i was a fan of this team before the panthers" fans that make BOA such a "away fan" paradise.

He's Panther "fan" until we play his old team, then he wears all his Viking poo to the game...

pfffttt..

whatever- thats BS- I am glad they lost.

ofcourse im glad they lost...i wasnt to sure if this guy is a carolina fan or a vikings fan...but if he is a panthers fan and wore his old vikings gear because he "was" a vikings fan then thats stupid.

I can't complain about the Vikings fans around us, there was an ass in front of us that talked a little smack throughout the game but at the end he turned around tipped his hat and congratulated us on the win. The worst fans this year had to have been the Bills by far. They were all complete a$$holes, ran their mouths the entire game, and talked about how much they loved Buffalo. Why don't they go the hell back then, plus I was sitting beside a guy who had on a Buffalo jersey, a Jets hat, and a Giants leather jacket, I mean what the hell it that? F**K Buffalo:D

I feel your pain on the buffalo game, the chants of "Lets go Buffalo!" still ring in my head. I wasnt at the Viking game so I cant input on that.

Someone said earlier how this year seems to be the worst for opposing fans taking over our stadium, and thats a no brainer if you look at who we've played at home so far. Almost all of them have a transplant fanbase...Philly, Washington, Buffalo, Miami, Minnesota, Atlanta, Tampa. 6 of those teams are teams you would expect to have a following here. We havent played teams like Jacksonville, Houston, St Louis, Seattle, Arizona, or even Cincinnati (Im not sure if they would pack our stadium or not, Im sure Cleveland fans would)

When I went to game against Arizona last year, there were very few Cardinals fans that I could see. I guess that was because we had a winning record last year, though.

if you don't want it to get ugly then don't wear your gear or stay home. panthers fans have to deal with so much crap at home games bc of so many obnoxious visiting fans. I don't want them to feel welcome and I expect the same when I go to a panthers away game.

Could not agree more...that 3 year stretch where the obnoxious Cowboy fans came to town was unbelievable...and this years game with the Bills was ridiculous...I've been cheering at their every loss since then....total jerks.

Thats what im saying, our house has been full of opposing fans this year because we havent really played any teams like Arizona or Houston or Jacksonville that dont really have much of a national following. I dont think whether we are winning really has much to do about it. we could be 15-0 and our stadium would be full of opposing fans if we were to play Pittsburgh, Dallas, Philly, or Buffalo. Its just the nature of the area we live in, everyone from those places abandons their shithole cities to live here but still want to cheer for their team. Except Dallas fans, the closest to Dallas they have ever been is Dallas, NC lmao

My experience, as a Panthers fan, was that until last night, I liked Vikings fans. The minute I got out of the car, that all changed. Walked past a car a few feet away from me with four Vikes fans getting out. We turned to say a friendly hello, and before I could open my mouth they were yelling at the top of their lungs, "Boo, go home Panthers." Etc. Being really, really ugly. We reminded them, still in our friendliest of tones, of where they were ... and wished them a good game. I was convinced that when we got back, they'd be long gone, but they weren't. So, as we passed their car as they were getting in, with my best southern hospitality, I said, "Great game! Have a safe trip home, and Merry Christmas." They just slyly smiled .... jerks. (There was another jerk Vikes fan sitting behind me that wouldn't stf up ... until the Panthers did it for him.)

had a similar experience. while walking to my seats, vikings fans were yelling at us "panthers suck" and things like that. the ones in our section yelled at fans and even poured a beer on a fan in front of him on purpose after a peppers sack!

i think vikings fans have their heads up their asses because they won a few games this year and think they have a shot at a superbowl. they won't even get there or even if they do, stand any chance at all at beating the colts.

Costmo Girl: No disrespect, but please don't sell your seat to visiting fans. I've been a PSL owner for 15 years, and no fans of visiting teams have ever (or will ever) sit in my seats. Have some pride.

I agree JustthePanthers. First, I have had PSL's for 6 years. I have not been in a situation were I was unable to go and needed to sell my tickets but if so would never to an opposing teams fan. I wont even bring a friend to a game that is fan of the opposing team and beleive me I get LOTS of requests for that - but is always NO WAY. I did that once and it was just to damn annoying :-) . Panther fans only!!!!!! We have to start somewhere and take our stadium back!!.
