It just demonstrates what I have always known. Each games stands out as a separate effort. You can't look at one or two games and decide that because we did well in those games, we should have done better in others. what we did against Arizona has little or no bearing on what we did or should have done against buffalo for example.

I feel happy about finally getting to see some good Panther football since the Arizona game.

As far as feeling better about next year: sure I feel somewhat better after seeing Moore get some starts but I'm still very worried about what will happen this offseason.

I think if we had made the QB change after the first two games, maybe we would be at least be looking at a wild card spot right now. Matt may not be the entire answer to our problem , but it looks to me as though he has definately injected some new fire into the team. As for 010, if Fox stays it'll be more of the same.

Some teams just match up better or worse against other teams. That's why it's so hard in the NFL to look at a team's schedule and just assume they'll dominate in the next game too! Just look at the Saints Saturday night and us last night.

I sort of have mixed feelings about all of this. I feel like Fox is a mediocre coach, at best, who somehow finds a way to keep his job each year. I mean, he deserves to be fired, but what if we win the next two games? Does Richardson reevaluate that decision and blame the year injuries, etc? And what about Jake and his new contract? What if Moore continues to show signs of greatness? Fact is, there isn't much out there in the way of free agent QBs and we don't have a 1st round pick ourselves. Do you think Hurney and Fox had the right idea at the time, to resign Jake, looking at 2010 options? Do you think Jerry blamed them? Seriously, what was the alternative?

I just have a lot of mix feelings. It seems like something needs to be done, but it's almost like the stars are aligning perfectly, so nothing will get done, and the cycle will repeat itself. The problem, I don't know if that's a BAD thing.

it made my Christmas week alot more joyous.....i try to stay away from what ifs and what we did in the past, and just try to build on wins like this....hope to finish strong this season and have it carry on into '10. not frustrated at all.

It shows Matt Moore needed to start Week 3. It also shows that Fox is so loyal to his starters that it blinds his good Judgment.

The matchup between two teams does vary the game and bear different results.. I get that part of what people are mentioning..

however, teams in the NFL do play consistent football much better than the Panthers. This has been our M.O. for years.. This is also common with NFL teams who are average or above average, and not just in talent or coaching, but in the season and how well the team as a whole is coming together... The middle of the pack type teams are all facing this same situation, fighting to stay in contention and trying to find a way to get into mid-season form or playoff form.. (Even if it turns out we are out of the playoffs, they haven't given up)..

The issue for me comes when Fox is on the "Much more inconsistent than average" type of the spectrum. And it just seems that in the last few years this has become the inevitable..

So IMO, this game frustrates me EVEN more when I try to back up the Panthers because I know how good they are and what they can do.. Panther fans have seen glimpses.. There's a bigger problem keeping us from showing up on the field, whether it be parts of the personnel or the coaching... Well, last night was a night of execution more than coaching.

Yes, Davidson called a few more better plays last night than usual, but a lot of plays were made last night when Moore tossed it up and Smith made a play or Barnidge adjusted to make that catch. Hoover got separation and Moore made the good throw. (Although I do like that Davidson didn't go to the run there).. Even Stewarts TD was risky when I think it was KMoore was wide open on a stop-route right in front of MMoore. Stewart got in position to make that catch. I think last night was much more execution than anything..

I agree with both these men. No, I'm not frustrated. I refuse to answer the "crazy" question.

If you are feeling crazy or frustrated then you're devoting too much of your life to a football team.......

I'm happy today. And, yes, it will make for a merrier Christmas.

If fox is still here then you can forget about moore starting next season. As long as jake is healthy and as long as he and fox are still sleeping with each other then jake will be continue to be the starter no matter how badly moore outplays him

bittersweet. i was disappointed, at first, that we couldn't do this earlier on in the season... but in the end i'm pretty pumped for the future. whatever our coaching staff is next year, we'll still have a GREAT team and hopefully more of these types of games in 2010 :cheers2:
