He played big in a nationally televised game against one of the best teams in the league. Sure looks good on his resume huh? I for one am not surprised.

Is that what happened in the Monday night game against Dallas, a team that was thought to be one of the four "mystery teams" Peppers wanted to go to?

I agree that Peppers is inconsistent. I'm just not sure there's much of a correlation between his play and the "primetime" games.

McKinnie eventually got pulled. The question is, did he get pulled because he wasn't giving it his all, or pulled to put someone else out there to try and contain Pep and keep Favre safe? We may never know.

So Jared Allen was dogging it last night? Because he didn't do squat, his one good play he was unblocked due to a blown assignment.

Peppers is streaky, I'll give you that, but I don't think he dogs it that often.

As CRA said, I think this whole season Peppers has been playing hard fought games. Unfournaltey he broke his hand mid way through the season which hindered his perfromance and playing time. If he didnt, I think we would be talking about how hard he's been playing this season

Outside of the two games against Green Bay, and one against Chicago, Allen hasn't really been that great this year. He has 9.5 sacks in those three games, and four against everyone else. Guess he only comes to play against division foes.

Last night watching Pep was like watching Randy Moss have a 200-yard, three-touchdown game. Part of you is like "Wow, this guy is unstoppable" and then you remember how he played against the Panthers.

Remember what the knock on Peppers was by scouts coming out. Scouts watch tape of these guys over and over again. They aren't just making up weaknesses for the heck of it.

peppers catches a lot of flack from this board. i can understand his huge contract and hindering our offseason moves. but its not to often we get to see how much of a freak he is......i ll never forget the momment he put his hands up to the crowd and just demolished the man in front of him for a sack. he can take over a game as long as he is motivated and his heart is in it. one thing i can state is it ll be a sad momment in carolina when number 90 leaves to line up on someone elses sidelines....

I saw him blow thru two blockers at one point like Reggie White use to do. It certainly wasn't just Mckinnie he was abusing.

Personally, I think Peppers has played very well for most of this year (cept when he was injured). I think it just took him and the entire defense a while to catch on to the new scheme.

It's was a primetime game...Peppers played his ass off because he knew possible suitors for next year were watching. He just made himself millions more dollars He is a dominant force at DE, but does he want to be that force for the Panthers?

When the defense trusts and believes in their own team's qb, it sparks a fire. Could it be that part of Pep's "pep" came from having more confidence in Matt Moore than in Jake Delhomme? I think the whole team is sparked by the young blood at qb. I couldn't help but notice how energetic the panthers were...reminded me a little of the days right after Jake's Jags game in '03.

Great post...no matter what, Pep is the best DE ever to suit up for the Panthers and I will be sad to see him go if he does.

He was a flat out freak last night...I was a little bit scared for the old man...at times I thought Pep might rupture his spleen.
