Well, John Fox looks like a idiot now...

Anyone who is saying Fox is an idiot because of Moore is an idiot themselves. Who picked Moore to begin with and kept him on the roster for the last 3 years? Who made him the number 2 so he would get a shot? And who worked with him to develop a gameplan on offense he could execute and look good in?

WHo is to say that Moore would have played better earlier or didn't need the time to develop this year with the 1s. It is easy to say woulda coulda shoulda or to blame Fox no matter what.

I think at this point the idiots are the one who can't be happy with the win and need to continue to trash people even in the throes of a victory.

You hit the nail on the head. Sure.. Dallas picked Moore, but that is only because Moore chose to go with Dallas instead of any of the other teams that were trying to bring him in to their training camp.. for all we know, Fox was trying to land him after the draft. Fox did an amazing job finding the talent in Moore, and bringing him to our team.. otherwise, we would be stuck with Brett Basanez or Feeley right now. You have to give credit to Fox and Hurney for finding the talent that we have today. To not do-so is just asinine.

After watching Sunday night's game, I can say, I think this team is heading in the right direction, and if Fox stays next year, we will make the playoffs. His track record shows it. I think we should give Fox his 1 more year that is left on his contract, and see what he can do with it. If Fox leaves, we will lose the entire coaching staff.. including Meeks. And I would hate to see our defense dismantled, because they are capable of playing so well together.

Delhomme was the cancer, and the cancer has been removed. "But, Fox is the one who kept Delhomme in the lineup for so long!".. so what? Do you really think Delhomme can't play right now if we really needed him? You are wrong if you think not. Moore will be the starter for the rest of the season, and as far as I am concerned, it's his job to lose at this point. I am willing to give Fox a season with Moore at the helm. I think it's wrong to abandon ship on a guy after homefield advantage just a season ago.. and a mediocre season the next.

give Fox one more year and he will have an "open competition" heading into next season.....and declare Jake gives us the best chance. Nothing to suggest otherwise......Jake is Fox's QB. Fox proved that this year.

Of course you would come to defend Fox. Anyone who thinks Fox didnt stick with Delhomme too long is an idiot. How many times did he say Jake gives us the best chance to win even after a blow up? And he was #2 the year because they put Josh McCown on IR. If you remember, they had him as #2 before then. And where was this gameplan before? Before this game, our gameplan was awful. Why does he always wait till we are eliminated from the playoffs to have a better gameplan?

"Who is to say Moore would've played better?"? Have you been watching this season? Alot of QBs in the league would've played better than Delhomme. But no Fox kept Jake in week after week. And because of his stubborness, we are out of the playoffs. If Moore started way earlier, we could have at least 3 more wins.

I think at this point anyone who defends Fox is an idiot and are too blind to the fact that he is a horrible coach whose norm is having a bad gameplan, failing to make adjustments, and is too loyal.

Not that I'm sticking up for Fox here, but yeah, apparently we were 1 of 5 teams that contacted him post draft. An old article/blog with that info showed up again recently, check around. Good read.

I first want to see how Moore plays the next two games to see who he really is.

What gameplan did he have that was different from previous? I thikn the biggest diffrence is for one game he had a player who could execute it. Moore has shown one game that he could play well. Wait to see the next two before declaring who was right.

And what is it with you thinking Fox is loyal over Fox just truly thinking he's making the right call, right or wrong?

This gameplan was different from what we usually ran during the regular season. Good mix of pass and run, rolling out the QB, more sweeps, more screens. Only threw it long down field when the opportunity came instead of forcing it. It's like a gameplan that finally played to our players strengths.

And the reason I think Fox is so loyal to veterans is because just about everyone could see Jake was finished a long time ago, yet Fox still stuck with him. Saying he gives us the best chance to win. And McCown, he has been crap whenever I saw him and Fox had him #2 up until we put him on IR.

bullshit.

Our Defense won this game for us.

I concur. Had this thing turned into a shootout and Fox ditched the rushing attack, I would have liked to see Moore handle the Vikings front 7 with their ear's pinned back. The game was close and the rushing game was effective enough to keep the Vikings defense honest. If we would have been down 10+ points, I bet Matt's stats don't end up looking so pretty.

Are pass/run diffrential hasnt been much diffferent from previous games. Same with throwing it down flield. Rolling out the QB has been somthing Fox does only with Moore. I just think the excution for first time in sevral games actually clicked.

I could list atleast 10 rookies who he started above vetrans. I don''t think its about loyalty at all, I just think Fox thought he was making the right call.

What about when it comes to the QB position? That's what Im referring to.

The pass/run differential hasn't been evenly distributed in most games this year like it was this game. And when we threw it downfield, it was more forced. Like throwing a long bomb to Moose (who has lost speed) because Smith has been covered. Or throwing it to Smith when he's triple covered. We usually forced the pass in order to hope they come down with it when it either shouldnt have been thrown at all or only thrown when the chance came. Also there were more sweep run/off tackle run plays called than there usually was. And Fox didn't sit back and take the safe route after half time. We actually went out there after half time and played great football which is something we've struggled with all season.

The point that I was making is that if Fox allows other rookies/young guys to start over vetrans it leads to the assumption that its not the fact that jake is a vetran but that Fox just belive he's a better player. If you want to argue that he made a stupid move, then IMO that has more support and argument to it, its alot harder to say he just playing him becuase he been here for a while.

I think all the throwing is much more on Qb play. A play is given and you have sevral options on who to throw it to.

I dont know what will happen with fox. I think he is a good coach, he has lead the panther to several winning seasons and runs in the playoffs, even to a superbowl, yes he has struggled with back to back winning seasons but he knows how to win. I agree he probably stuck with Delhomme longer than he should have and who's to say he wont put him back in there whn Delhommes finger heals. He shouldnt after seeing Moore performed the best game any of our quarterbacks have had all year. He kept Delhomme in the cause he knew the playbook and was a veteran that knew the offesne alot better than Moore. I'm sure Fox thought Delhomme woudl pull through the slump he was in. Because all QBs have a point in their careers where they look washed up, and most of the time they pull through them.
