To all those that kept saying Matt Moore was garbage

Moore is not that all that good guys. I think some of us are so disappointed in the season that a win is making some dilusional. I was at the game, wasn't impressed with Moore, re-watched the game at home and STILL wasn't impressed. Moore made exactly TWO throws over ten yards that were on target, one being the Smitty TD. Even then Smitty had time to turn around and wait for a second on it. If the DB didn't fall down *cough* Smitty *cough* who knows, if that pass would have been a TD or an incompletion, or an INT. Matt's one lone throw over ten yards was a 15 yard out to Smitty and was indeed on target.

Admit it folks, the play calling has gotten much better and Moore is a by-product of it. The staff isn't asking Matt to make huge plays down field to Smitty nearly as often as they did with Jake. Last night our passing offense resembled that of a WCO. That was biggist my peeve...the play calling. It has incorporated more short passes and Matt has benefited from it. It's a shame that it took 7 losses and ruining a QBs confidence to figure that out. The staff will play a conservative passing attack or "high percentage" passes when a young QB is playing but won't hardly touch those passes any other time.

play calling is the overall the same....Jake just isn't there to be it look horrific. Moore has gone downfield just as often as Jake did also......

Jake had the same short passes mixed in also.

Actually Moore is 1-1 against playoff teams and 1-0 against Tampa.

To go back and include 2007 is the same thing you and others railed against when people talked about our other quarterback who went 12-4 last year. If you don't let anyone include his 2008, then you can't include Moore's 2007. Each year is different as is each team. 2007 is ancient history in football terms.

And he will earn next year's starter status in training camp next season. Especially if we have a new coach. He did good this week but to assume he has earned the permanent starting role is naive and surely premature.

What I say. 4-2 against 5 playoff teams and one scrub team. 07, Seattle, Dallas and TB. 09 TB, NE and Minn. I put his whole record out there. You want to minimize it by breaking it down. If he started the season off facing those teams would you be happy with a 4-2 record?

GO Panthers.

woulda could shoulda. if jake didnt throw all those ints he wouldnt be one of the worst starting qbs in the league and we would be in the play offs.

so are you suggesting that the entire season until matt moore has stepped in that they all of a sudden changed there game plan. i think they played conservative in the saints game. jake just kept throwing picks.

he didnt impress, he was 21/33 for 299 yards with a passer rating of 123. what more do you want? the last time that has happened on this team was like 4 years ago?

Have you looked at the game log? he threw plenty of passes of 10 yards.

Not minimizing it, using the same criteria for everyone this year. Plus I am pointing out that Moore is 2-1 this year. What happened in 2007 is not relevant to the present, just like Jake's 12-4 record last year and his 4-7 record this year for a combined 16-11 record doesn't accuracy depict his performance this year.

If Moore faced those teams this year then they would be included and yes I would be okay with a 4-2 record. I would be happy with 6-0, but okay with 4-2. Personally I hope he wins the next 2 and he posts a 4-1 record this year. I am glad Moore is doing well. While many on here have been hoping we lose our remaining games, I have been one rooting for the Panthers to win them all. Why? because I always want to win every game especially the ones I attend in person. Let the chips fall where they may, I would still rather be 8-8 than 4-12 for example. As for the coaches staying or leaving, richardson looks at more things than just win-lost records so if he thinks we need a change he will do it. He got rid of his sons, he surely would get rid of Fox if he thought he needed to.

I don't agree at all. Everyone wants to say he isn't capable of leading this team based on the three games he has played this season. The point is he has played 6 games against quality opponents and won 4 of them and had us in the game in the other 2. NE being his weakest game.

You see it as three games I see it as SIX. He may not be pretty but neither was Jake when he was doing well for us. Bottom line he does enough to win.

Go Panthers

why is that? How does he benefit?

Business/finicial move as I said. With them being on the payroll should exchange of ownership of team take place versus them not. I don't understand, nor see what difference it should make, but that is the way it has been explained to me by people that deal with this stuff on a daily basis.

Don't know any details, just hear that was the safer move for the bigger picture.

this the way i looked at it some people are still going to bitch about him regardless of what he does....but if i could sit back and watch jake suck for MUTIPLE years....then some of you should be able to sit back and watch this kid who isn't near as bad get his shot.i mean really every week there's something new that moore isn't doing, like he is some kind of 12 year vet really............
