Yeah, a lot of folks are overlooking that the guy is playing his third position in as many seasons. Playing him as a deep FS was just absolutely baffling though.

Visions of early Thomas Davis mismanagement IMO.  Thomas Davis only became a real monster when he moved and really got comfortable at LB.   It took almost a decade for TD to actually be a monster

Yep, between injuries and not figuring out how to beat utilize him we never really realized how good he was until well into his career. It was actually very reminiscent of Chinn in that he played really well as a rookie in sort of a hybrid role then this happened. I hope we don't waste most of Chinns career. If we can't figure it out, trade him and let someone else have a crack at it. Just be prepared for the "I can't believe we traded Chinn" threads for years. The guy can play but with our coaching turnover, system changes, and position changes the guy can't get anything going

Thoughts on trading Chinn to the Lions for Jameson Williams? I know Williams is suspended for the first six games, but he had great chemistry with Bryce at Alabama and can stretch the filed (4.25 40)

I’d rather trade Horn and use Chinn to get back into the first round this offseason.

Chinn was our 3lb on sunday. You guys are are running with a weird narrative here saying the team isnt using Chinn properly when they are legitimately running him the exact way you want. We did not play any other linebackers outside of Luvu, Shaq, Burns, and Houston.....

Thomas Davis was moved to LB his second year in the league. We played him at S and LB his rookie year.

He was a beast his third year in the league... 87 tackles, 12 TFLs and 3.5 sacks along with 1 INT.

You expect people to watch and understand what they are looking at?

He might have played a few games ever at safety. He was a linebacker most of the time even in his rookie season. He was a linebacker in the season opener of his rookie season.. no idea what history these guys are following here

    • The other draft picks have turned out pretty well. Brooks will too.
    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
