Trade Scenario

we did it, someone else will.

Pep is considered a SPECIAL player- some team WILL pay big money for him, the question is will we get anything out of him?

I don't know, man. Maybe a few years ago. That'd be like saying someone would give up an arm and a leg for Richard Seymour next year. Dude is getting up there in years played. I just don't see it going down for a first with Pep. For a second, yes. And any GM willing to pay him $20m needs their head examined.

Boy, I'd love to see what Singletary would do if he though Julius wasn't giving it 100%. Maybe he'd tell him to hit the showers like Davis?

Know what I'd love to see more? is Fox do it.

I am fully aware this is impossible by definition.

Top 10 picks right now are not all they are cracked up to be as long as we lack a rookie cap. In particular quarterbacks picked high want 60 or 70 million before they even take a snap. At this point you could get a good guy in the second or third round who would be affordable and potentially good. Unlike some years where all the decent talent is off the board by pick 20, there should be good quarterbacks when we pick in the second or third. It is time for us to stop mortgaging our 1st rounder every year as if we are one guy away from a super bowl. Give San Fran our first rounder and move on.

The question, however, is: is Pep even worth a 1st Rounder now?

I say, no.

If we want a first THAT BAD (and it may be time to draft a QB), we may have to trade someone for a second, then give up both seconds for a first. I know, I know...this isn't Madden, but of all the quality QBs coming out in the Draft...I'd rather take the top ofthe litter than the middle and hopes he Bradys out...I mean pans out.

Yeah IDT the niners see him as being that valuable. They have had guys like Manny Lawson and other OLBs step up to make them a formidable defense WITHOUT paying a ton of money. I think they hold on to both picks and take a dominant DB (like Berry or Hayden) and then take best player available for the other pick. Can you imagine if they took Dez Bryant and paired him with Crabtree??

I would rather have Eric Berry AND one of those QBs than Julius Peppers and have to choose between one of those guys.

I think that trading Julius Peppers is exactly how you build for the future. It is true that we could pick a good QB in the 2nd round but wouldn't you like to add some younger weapons to our team?

First things first tho...I want a new coach. Everything else will fall in place with someone other than Fox and Hurney in charge.
