Trade Scenario

I would go for it. I think Julius is a great player, but only when he tries and he doesn't try all the time. I want players on the Panthers that love the sport and have a non-stop motor. Peppers picked the NFL over the NBA because of the money, not because of his love for the sport.

Do you realize how scary that defense would be with Julius Peppers(if he gave full effort)

If we signed JPeppers to a long term contract(with a clause guaranteeing him we'd trade him) and were actually able to trade, I could see 49'ers trading for him. That won't happen though, he'll enter free agency and likely sign with the Patriots since Bill Belichick has a crush on him.

HOWEVER, I can also see them trading their two 1st rounds up to get Eric Berry.

I actually don't think that the Niners would do it. I know that Pep is more of a difference maker for them next year than anyone they could get in the draft but...he is also going to cost probably twice as much. Compare a deal worth probably around 40 million for a draft pick to a deal around 80 million (for Pep).

If the Niners would go through with it then I'd do it in a heartbeat. We are probably getting a top 10 pick if we make that trade. At worst it would be 12 or 13.

I would pull the trigger almost without thinking about it if we had a chance at Clausen. If we couldn't get Clausen (which I think we could) then I'd have to consider whether or not we could resign Pep to a long-term deal.

Singletary would do the same thing with Peppers he did with Vernon Davis.....I think we should get a legit coach and sign Pep to a long term deal.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Peppers needs to go. He is like a disease. He is infecting the team with lack luster play. This team has zero Team Drive. We have a lot of individuals that play hard but no team chemistry and I think our teams plays how JP plays.

He just seems not to want to be here AT ALL!!! I even think with Foxy gone, JP needs to go too and JD. JD is Foxes guy. In fact, Foxes 2 guys are JD and JP. All three need to go

Poor play from these two Supposedly Team leaders results in the overall play of the offense and defense.

Even though it's an uncapped year, I don't see any team taking on his one-year $20m hit. I'm not sure on the rules as to if they could re-sign him to a mutli-year deal after agreeing to the trade, but if they can't $20m for one player is insane, no matter the open-book on spending.

Pepp has not earned his 20 mil and I do believe they can restructure his deal. Not sure 100% though

At some point you will have to take a loss and if a trade with SF to get our #1 back is an option, I say do it, Draft a 1st rd QB, take that chance as we have taken so many other shitty chances. McCown will be back next year, let him come in as the starter next spring and let him duke it out with the rookie we draft.

I wish we would stop with the mentality of signing someone else's sloppy seconds QB or finding the"diamond in the rough". Why not take the chance on a 1st rounder, we never have, so lets do it

The question, however, is: is Pep even worth a 1st Rounder now?

I say, no.

If we want a first THAT BAD (and it may be time to draft a QB), we may have to trade someone for a second, then give up both seconds for a first. I know, I know...this isn't Madden, but of all the quality QBs coming out in the Draft...I'd rather take the top ofthe litter than the middle and hopes he Bradys out...I mean pans out.

well, he didn't want to be here.....so we can't be too shocked. I would mind if Pep goes....I do think they would be forced to sign a veteran playmaker to the DL though....

ditch Pep and go after Kampman. He will be a FA and is wasting away in the GB 3-4.

we did it, someone else will.

Pep is considered a SPECIAL player- some team WILL pay big money for him, the question is will we get anything out of him?
