Aaron Rodgers got hurt on turf… the Panthers switched to Turf

If the NFLPA can't force the issue and make a change happen, then either:

1. They need to go to fully guaranteed contracts because players are risking a lot more playing on the fake poo

2. Get new leadership in the NFLPA

Players don't like turf, fans don't like turf, team owners who (allegedly) keep a pair of brass balls on their desk and have more zeroes in their bank account than a Tony Snell stat sheet love turf. Those dudes can always rely on manipulating whatever markets got them their billions to make back the money it will cost to better protect their teams.

In any other line of work, if a particular surface was significantly more likely to injure an employee, those surfaces would be replaced. Or, the employer would be neck deep in lawsuits until it was resolved. Right now the NFL is basically putting the players on wet tile floors without having the decency to put up the yellow "slippery" signs.

It has to stop. Put the players first. Period.

Who's golfing in the winter up north?

If there's no snow on the ground, it's easy to do

This guy. MN and WI

It’s all about the layers and neon balls

my most memorable golfing experiences (and probably the most fun) was golfing when the snow started. golfed as long as we could in it. just golfing or even hiking/backpacking in really cold and crazy weather makes for the best memories.

Comparing turf on a golf course where for the most part people walk calmly in nice weather and in the LZs take up divots to a field where 42 men grind each other into it in the rain and snow is beyond stupid

ever been to a driving range? The tee range looks like mud every night. Has to be resodded constantly. Grass grows back within a couple days because they’re using good soil and spending money on good sod.

NFL teams have far, far more to spend on the singular most important component to the game aside from the ball itself

you can grow grass anywhere with money, and it’s not so hideously expensive that it’s untenable. There are thousands upon thousands of golf courses that keep on operating right through winter, owned by millionaires not billionaires (covering far, far more area)

I get where you are going, but as my friend who works on golf courses nation wide said "The one benefit golf courses have that fields dont... its that you dont have 22 pairs of cleats running through and tearing it up every week"

He said his hardest job wasnt maintaining golf courses, but was soccer fields when he was in Leads, England.

it isn’t just about the money anymore. It’s about pride. The nfl has been criticized for this so now they can’t go back. They have to be right.

i predicted last time this thread popped up you’d start hearing propaganda pieces about some “revolutionary new turf technology, the pioneering new TRUGrassX” or whatever….sure enough it’s come since then.

nfl is a predictable tyrant

Maybe they need to talk to some enterprising folks who grow marijuana in their basement, makes you think.
