And how do they do that for the stadiums in the league that it's just not feasible to have grass?

Lions, Vikings, Rams, Chargers would have a 0% chance at it due to being complete domes (or roof in the case of LA teams).

Then even the fields with some form of retractible roof like for the Cowboys, Falcons, Colts, and Texans that I doubt even with some retro-fitting would be able to be open enough to get enough sunshine to all areas of the field to properly have an NFL quality field.

Those places can put grass in for the big soccer games on a one-off basis, but it can't be done for an entire football season.  And they don't do it or them out of the kindness of their hearts, they do it because it's the only way to get the games played in those stadiums, it's done because that sport is played on grass at an international level, they just don't play it on field turf anywhere, so you can't then play on it here.

Also, who knows if this injury was caused due to turf or not, but it's getting ridiculous where any non just pulled muscle injury on non grass fields is being blamed on the turf.

The closest you could do would be to mandate grass fields for any stadium that can have one and any future built stadiums.

But even then, they'd likely need to start compensating those teams extra money for the upkeep of the fields.  We switched because our grass field couldn't hold up all season long due to our games and other events, and everyone complained how poor of shape it always was in by the end of the season and if we were lucky, in the playoffs.

Modern day stadiums can't be profitable on 8-9 NFL games a season, you need to hold other events and other football games there to support the cost of them.

If the NFL wants grass fields where possible, they need to help pay the extra costs to keep the field in top quality shape all season long or the owners will never agree to it, it will be a non-starter issue for them in any negotiations.

Owners do not care because it's all about the money. If Arizona can roll out a grass field in a dome in the desert then they could figure it out anywhere else but they won't because it would be very expansive and they can just replace the hurt players with rookies next year while they throw lame concerts for even more money on that garbage turf. It cold be done but the price would be very expensive at some locations due to geographical location and stadiums designs. The Romans flooded the colosseum 2 thousand years ago and had navel battles so lol to people saying they couldn't put grass in NFL stadiums if they wanted to make it happen. 

I wish the players would force the issue but even they are about their money first or they would make it an issue. That is the NFL at it's most stripped down.

The Arizona field was slammed for being in poor condition and dangerous during preseason. Grass doesn't automatically mean it's good.

you can grow grass anywhere with money, and it’s not so hideously expensive that it’s untenable. There are thousands upon thousands of golf courses that keep on operating right through winter, owned by millionaires not billionaires (covering far, far more area)

it isn’t just about the money anymore. It’s about pride. The nfl has been criticized for this so now they can’t go back. They have to be right.

i predicted last time this thread popped up you’d start hearing propaganda pieces about some “revolutionary new turf technology, the pioneering new TRUGrassX” or whatever….sure enough it’s come since then.

The Panthers had bad grass too because the owner was cheap and cut corners along with a doofus employee if I remeber corectly. Again money is always the first reason. Hell the turf is bad sometimes for the same reasons. The stamdards are ridiculously low and i can't even remember what penalty they get when the score the field conditions. The Panthers were really bad in the cold snap game last year.

Tepper wanted it because he could use the stadium more with his concerts. It's not an issue because the players won't demand anything and give up on other negotiating items.

Yeah and Horn got stuck in turf with his cleats on his first injury. They claim to care about player safety but the data clearly shows turf is one of the main if not THE main culprit on injuring players to include heads bouncing off it.

It's all about being able to maximize non-football usage of stadiums. It has nothing to do with football. If you want the best FOOTBALL stadium you have grass. If you want the best overall money making venue you want artificial turf.
