I would like to apologize to @mrcompletely11

He said all offseason to lower expectations for this team because we are rebuilding. I was blinded by the new coaching staff and completely ignored Tepper hired these people. I was fooled and im now changing my expectations. We just don't have much on offense at the skill positions. Fitt patched up those positions with guys that are just JAG's at this point.

I think we will have a bottom 5 team this year. Sucks we are going to gift the Bears another quality player.smh

I also accept your apology, seeing as I was telling you the same thing all offseason, many many many times 😉

I thought we would win somewhere between 7-9 games, but now I'm not so sure, especially as the start of this schedule is brutal and we could end up starting 0-6 after how we looked today

Yeah I was wrong on that I will gladly admit when I was just flat out wrong.

This team is lacking serious weapons on offense. It will be a long season unless they find a trade for somebody.

I still don't hate our skill position players outside of not having a true #1 WR.

Sanders looked solid today outside of the fumble and Hubbard looked like a totally different player as well.  Hurst looked better than I was expecting, now I'm wondering if he's going to be the safety valve that I was expecting Thielen to be for Bryce this year.

I think Bryce just looked a little rattled at times today, something I don't think will be a long term issue but something that isn't a big surprise for a rookie starting week 1 on the road.

I think Chark will be good for us, when on the field which I only expect to happen for about 8-10 games this season.  I'm also not going to judge Mingo off of his first game either, combine the first game nerves for him and Bryce and I'm not concerned about him today, he'll keep getting better as the year moves on.

TMJ was supremely disappointing today though and I'm not sure he's going to be much more than a JAG at this point, we'll see.

It's not even the lack of weapons. If you watch high powered offenses they scheme their guys open. We run a very vanilla, easy to defend, offense with a rookie QB that is having a much more serious issue with field vision than we want to believe. I saw him jump several times on throws last night. It's hard to get zip and be precise when you can't step into your motion.

At the end of Free Agency with the hype train, I had us at 10-7 9-8

Now without Horn

molasses WR

A RB bust signing

I see this team as 6-11 5-12

It is what it is and hopefully the team shows something down the road but this is my adjusted team record

I had us at 7 maybe 8 wins if things broke our way.

Now this is 5 win team and heads should roll if we dont make it to 5

Starting with Fitts. I gave him a bit of a break last off-season because of Rhule, but turning down the Burns trade AND not getting a new contract before now is a huge misstep. Add in 2 panic picks in Corral and DJ Johnson that we traded up to do, and now this poo show we have on the field, this is a fuging joke. If we end up with 3-5 wins, Reich should be out also and we need to make a serious run at Ben Johnson or Evero if he's interested in staying.

4-13 / 5-12. Only potential wins I'm seeing are vs Texans, vs Colts, at Bears, vs Bucs, and vs Falcons . We'll probably drop one of those, but maybe we surprise and win a game like at Bucs, at Saints, or vs Packers.

Reich-led teams historically never start well so I don't feel confident in the next 4 (at Seahawks, vs Vikings, at Lions, at Dolphins). Frankly feels like we're staring 0-6 in the face. Maybe 1-5 if we upset the Vikings at home.

2018: 1-5

2019: 4-2 (actually started 5-2 before ending 7-9)

2020: 4-2 (best season, finished 11-5)

2021: 1-4, finished 9-8

2022: 3-5-1, fired

2023: 0-2 and staring 1-5/0-6 in the face

anything less then 5 wins and I doubt anyone in the fanbase would care if Reich and co were fired especially after all that big talk in the offseason.   Throw crazy money at johnson or whoever and get some young offensive blood in here

    • One has a proven, offensive-minded, Super Bowl winning head coach along with a top 5 OL + defense. He's being protected and getting the ball back not having to chase the other teams. The other had Frank Reich + Thomas Brown their rookie year with a bottom 5 defense as well as a bottom 5 OL that gave up the 2nd most sacks against a rookie QB ever. The sophomore season is being ran with a top 5 OL but also with a rookie HC (that has just one year of OC experience) and a bottom 5 defense still. The Broncos defense has allowed over 20pts just three times this season (26 vs. SEA (L), 23 vs. LAC (L), 41 vs. BAL (L)). Meanwhile, the Panthers have had ONE game where the defense gave up less than 20pts (vs. NYG (W)).   I'm not sure how folks couldn't expect Bo Nix to statistically perform better given their incredibly different situations. With that said, I didn't expect Nix to keep ascending as impressively as he has this season. Hopefully his arc will give other older college QBs a better shot, especially given the recent media blitz against the NFL regarding how development of the QB position in the league seems to be non-existent. Hopefully Bryce continues to improve as well, of course.
    • “You can learn a lot in 10 games,” Nix said. “[I’m] still learning, still growing, but just finding ways to execute the play that’s called, no matter what it is: run play, pass play. It doesn’t matter. Just finding the right way to go with the ball.” To that point, Nix noted how his developing partnership with head coach Sean Payton has helped Denver’s offense get to the next level. “To be honest, I think at the beginning, you kind of make the NFL bigger than what it actually is,” Nix said when asked where he feels he’s made the most strides. “These players are really good, but at the same time, you have really good players on your level. I think simplifying the game, trying to play as fast as possible, and finding a completion, which is what we’ve been able to do here recently. “I think as we’ve gone on, Coach and I have found a good rhythm of what we both like, what we can kind of put out there on the field, and what we can execute. Then the guys have kind of adapted to it, found our roles within the offense, and executed at a high level. It’s just all about slowing the game down and processing things in a manner that you can handle. Just kind of see one or two things, and let those guys take you to where the ball is supposed to be.” -Bo Nix From what I'm gathering regarding Bryce, the Panthers entered this season with a reset mindset. It's Young's rookie year, which explains the benching. Now, we're beginning to see the development of Canales and Young's offense. Slow development but we're winning 😃
    • Bix has more tds through his first 11 games than bryce has his entire career....no comparison at all he made amazing throws during his first games his decision making just keeps getting better.  Young does not have the physical ability ro make the rhrows bo makes
