Let's discuss Bryce Young's debut

In addition to JAG weapons courtesy of Shitterer, Young didn't get much help from his coach/playcaller.

One thing I'd like to add: Frank Reich, early in the summer, said "We're encouraging Bryce that if it's not there, throw it out of bounds." So if you're thinking he sucks because his completion percentage reflected those throws, pin that one on the coach.

In terms of talent at the offensive skill positions (HB/WR/TE), this might be the worst assemblage in franchise history.

I guess Bryce “looking rattled” is the new “cam has a towel on his head”.

both those things are ok.

Let’s judge Bryce in December.  Then we will know if he’s growing or not . Till then just relax and stop trying to decide after 1 game. No one knows.

I am not deciding yet. I am just shocked it was that bad on Game 1. I was a firm believer in Young as the #1 pick, he was my guy.

Nothing in the offseason or preseason made me think he would be that bad in Game 1. I figure it's inevitable he would have a few bad games, but Game 1 I just didn't expect.

At least we didn’t make our QB the highest paid one in history like the Bengals. Burrow is such a bust. What a terrible player. Based on todays game he will be out of the game for good shortly. Am I doing this right?

I knew he was never gonna be good bc he's so rattled and laid back, and he's frail and weak when he takes those hits and gets up fine

When did Bryce lead his team to a superbowl and AFC championship game in back to back years?

He threw two picks on a bad read. What else did he do? Miss a WR once? Can't get blood out of a turnip.

Yeah I didn't love our "weapons" or the scheme. Young wasn't completely at fault.

He over threw and threw behind on multiple occasions. That was a real stunner.

He is the rookie I expect to have the least issues with that.

Like I said. I couldn't have possibly have been more of a Young supporter but JFC he did not look good. I mean, at all.

I am literally shocked about the performance.

brother if you're not worried about Bryce or this team and you still have hope, you're about to have a really rude awakening. a bad time for real.

he made several bad throws, a couple dirt balls, a couple out of bounds passes where he didn't even give his guy a shot, a couple overthrows that are the ones the elite make. two REALLY bad picks.

and this is the falcon's we're talking about. not looking good my guy.

I can't believe you guys are making me defend Bryce Young.  Whose stats are these for their first game?

I was mid on the Bryce selection, I didn't hate the pick, but didn't love it either.  Rookie QBs struggle.  Bryce, CJ and AR ALL lost today.  It's a process.  Calm down.  Now, if Young looks like this by the end of the season, then panic.

Agreed. He’s a rookie, on the road, his first game.
The most recent Qb , # 1 overall pick , is Trevor Lawrence.  He’s a lot better year 3 than he was 2021 opening game. This doesn’t mean Bryce will be great. But most rookies struggle thier first year.  We don’t have a receiver with speed.  Today, tomorrow, the next day, we aren’t a good football team. But we will get better most weeks .

    • You ok bro? Too much offseason left for you to be going full "crazy" like this.
    • OK, switching gears here a bit because I did not want to start a thread about uniforms again because this is tongue-in-cheek humor----or is it?    Background Information:  My wife is a Taylor Swift fan (A Swiftee).  She says that Taylor Swift puts subtle "clues" in her videos and lyrics, hinting what might be coming soon.  Here is an example of clues that may indicate future releases or upcoming events:    I see a lot of similarities between Dan Morgan and Taylor Swift.  They both spend a lot of money and time on their hair.  They both have the same vowel (a) in their first names.  Taylor Swift has 11 letters in her first and last name and was born in 1989.  Morgan was born in 1978--11 years earlier.  Eerie.  So it is probable that Morgan drops hints when he is on Television.  Most recently, I noticed a shot during his appearance on Pat McAfee's show.  See if you can notice it.  I will give you 30 seconds (30 second pause).  OK, did you see it? In the bottom left hand corner of the photo, it appears that he has a canister of roll-on deodorant.  I am guess "Axe" scented.  Just to the right of his shoulder, I see a smoothie mixer, probably a Ninja "Bullet."  "Axe" and "Bullet?" We are going to war, it seems. Then there are two mini helmets, one being Morgan's alma mater, but it is also a symbol for "hurricanes."  Fall is hurricane season, the season during which we shall go to war. Between the two helmets, there is a framed, blurry, red herring clue--Morgan's gold-plated volunteer junior deputy badge.  But the real clue is there, in the far right hand corner of the picture---a WHITE Carolina Panther helmet.  Not silver.  WHITE.  Hmmmm.  A WHITE Panther helmet in the GM's office.  What could that mean?  Men with war axes wear helmets.  Men going to war with bullets wear helmets.  Men in hurricanes wear helmets (I am speculating).  White helmets to usher in hurricane season.  The calm before the storm.  Uncanny.
    • #1 defense in the NFL. A bunch of rookies wasn't gonna help that unit. Yet out there with UDFAs starting on the oline and nutting up the Super Bowl.
