I will always be a fan regardless of the shat storm that may be happening at any given time. My life doesn't revolve around any sport, but I am a twenty plus year fan.

I can see casual fans not being into them, but anyone who has been involved with this team are still excited.

Samir was promoted in the offseason to have decision power on our spend. Tepper may be able to override him, but I think Fitt would be more of a lateral decision maker. It's very likely our front office is setup like our coaching staff. Everyone owns their own bucket of work.

Samir: Salary Cap

The model of one person owning it all is slowly moving its way out the NFL. There are many FOs that have multiple decision makers as opposed to just one.

I mean, we haven't had a winning season in a half decade.....and just entered a rebuild.  The super fans are pumped but it's totally understandable the casual fans in the area aren't super excited.  They get excited when you win.

I might care more again when it's on the field. But for now, I'm just friends with the team and it's squarely on Tepper's decision-making since taking over. Sucked all the life out for half a decade now and have to earn it back again.

you have to trust the people you hire... Normally we'd argue that Tepper is too involved in the franchise, now it sounds like we are disapointed he isnt getting invovled?

Anyways, my whole point is that this hasnt played out yet... so for right now... we wait... we overeact... then we relax.

One would think that after a whole offseason of whining, bitchhing, and moaning that fans would be ready for some football.

 

Yet 2 days before the season starts we still have whining, bitchhing, and moaning. Evidently there is no limit to the amount of negativity this board can produce.

I'm not surprised. We looked truly uninspiring in the preseason.

Honestly, I'm not excited but I'm not checked out either. I just have absolutely no idea what to expect so let's find out. That's pretty much my mindset at this point.

So you want to overpay Burns?  Sometimes playing hardball is the best way to meet in the middle.  Rams trade aside (that's a sunk cost now) we appear to be trying to not overpay him.

If Tepper involved himself in this you'd be angry about a meddling owner... I think a lot of people actively try to find something to be upset about. Before we grab the pitchforks why don't we wait until we either hear negotiations have came to a halt or we have a new contract.
