Why is Delhomme not on IR?

Great job of kitchen sinking. yeah when you throw out everything including the kitchen sink and hope that something works.

Using the Arizona play by play as a justification that we should have done something different in the New England game is clever. At first glance since they are both play by play they appear somewhat related. But it is an illusory correlation- two things which appear correlated but actually are unrelated to each other.

Why unrelated? Because it isn't as simple of just running the ball or not.

You don't just play to your strengths but take what the defense gives you. We couldn't run against New England whereas we could against Arizona.

Simplistic logic also doesn't factor in that the offensive line for the Panthers which played in the Arizona game was much better than the line that played in NE. With Gross out, Wharton playing out of position, Otah having shoulder and knee problems against NE, we couldn't just run over people like we did when everyone was healthy.

You use facts but then make simplistic conclusions which don't account for any of the complexities of the game. Success running requires favorable conditions to pound the rock. Such as being in favorable down and distances, facing a defensive coverage which favors running versus passing, having makeable third downs and then extending dries so you have more downs to develop a rhythm in the passing or running game. All things we did against Arizona and didnt do against new England.

No one is saying we shouldn't run the ball, certainly not me. But you have morphed the original argument which was that Fox should have run the ball more against New England to a discussion of how running against Arizona worked and we got plenty of yards so we need to do it all the time. Moore's inconsistency, penalties and too many negative and stuffed runs were why we couldn't run againt NE. The information about Arizona was interesting but totally irrelevant to the argument.

Whether we run on Sunday night against the Vikings, for example, will have a lot more to do with who we are facing, the defensive front we are facing, and the ability of Schwartz to play right tackle, then how well we blocked against Arizona weeks ago.

Seriously this is all I have to say. I tried to do this through PMs but you want a public forum. I am just not going to keep going back and forth to everyone's amusement as you shift the discussion each time you lose another argument. Again feel free to get the last word and save face. It appears more important to you than me. I'm sure you will follow me to other threads.

We ran against AZ b/c he wanted to. They put 9 in the box and we ran on 2nd and long and 3rd and long......that wasn't about them giving us anything.....that was a perfect example of playing to your strength depsite the opponent trying to get you not to and on downs that don't favor it. Your spin doesn't work on that scenario....sorry.

and again....we got penalities b/c of putting Moore in passing scenarios where we could run.....the game played out perfectly for Fox to lean on the ground game and he didn't.

Philly game is misleading.....game was over at the half. The 2nd half when the game was out of reach is where the yards per carry number got skewed.....as Carolina ran well in the 1st and 2nd quarter.....breakdown the numbers. Pointless throwing and why we got blownout early with a running game working.

NE- you can look at other games like AZ where "throwing downs" for others are still best for Carolna to run considering our personel.

and the Phins game was another obvious one.

Pointless throwing? It would be even more pointless running the ball during the blowout. We were getting stuffed mutilple times in the first half.

When the half ended we ran 18 for 60 yards 3.3 yards per carry.

As for the NE- you can't just act like its black and white and say because it worked for ARZ it will work in the same sitation in NE. There are numerous different varibles.
