Chris Jones not playing, Nick Bosa most likely not going to play, I'd be HIGHLY surprised if Burns plays without a contract this Sunday.

Word is that 49ers are actually fielding calls for Bosa as they don't want to budge the gap from their offer of 28m up to what Bosa asked for which is at least 31.5m aav.

We will find out today if he's going to play or not. If he plans on playing he'll be at practice going through it.

seriously?  they're going to risk losing Bosa over 3.5 per year?  that's like a rounding error in cap management in the long run, that's just dumb.

Yea... don't know how serious the talks are but they've definitely happened.  Insanity to me

I'm sure a few of them have contracts that can be restructured by converting the season's salary into a roster bonus so it can be spread along the rest of the contract while taking the vet minimum on the season to help get the cap down.

Keeping highly paid rosters together is much easier than bringing in highly paid talent because you can find ways to keep restructuring and kicking the can down the road.  Eventually you'll have to pay the toll, but you hope at that point you're into the re-build like the Saints did with the Brees era.

But Burns *IS* under contract (rookie deal, 5th year option).

He’s just refusing to play under that contract (if he continues his hold-out).
