And the conversation is relevant because there are those who are impressed with the pats taking a rider on him after we traded up with them to get him.

I just don't see any real win in this for them mainly because of what I see here. They got an extra pick that they used on a jag LB. Theyve got a mediocre QB starting for them that they drafted in the first round that belichick doesn't even like and a guy in the practice squad who played better than the #1 guy last year and then they go and pick up our cast off to use as a backup?

Sounds like they're flailing.

Bellichick has lost his magic

I said it when we traded for Darnold. You can't fix panic.

Yeah there is no patience. Glad we moved on from Darnold, but I never understood trading for him, knowing he was a project, and then being shocked when he wasn’t the fix in year 1.

My brother in law is like that. Buys project cars to fix…doesn’t fix them…then sells them for a loss after a couple years.

Don’t get a project if you won’t follow through.

No you didn’t. You were so excited when we got darnold. I remember you threw that huge party at local pizza spot and invited the huddle to come and celebrate.

by the way, how did that turn out?

He wasn't as excited as when we traded for THE Baker Mayfield.

The Darnold trade was always trash. We traded valuable assets for a proven trash QB. The Mayfield trade actually made some sense. We traded a 5th rounder for a guy who had actually had a decent season in the NFL and showed some promise as an NFL QB. No, it didn't work out but trading a 5th for Baker Mayfield was the best bad QB deal we made under Rhule and was a far better gamble than paying Teddy Bridgewater big money or trading legit assets for Sam Darnold.

Watched the video. Corral has tools that make him worth developing. However, he should NOT be counted on to win an NFL game with his arm this season.

I do NOT anticipate the Patriots will actually be able to develop him though. Bill doesn't have that kind of track record. Mac came in as a largely finished product (and hasn't really gotten much better) and Brady managed to survive long enough to become an outlier.

The Patriot's schedule is pretty brutal early (there is a very real chance they start 0-4 or 1-3), and I could see calls for the new kid (i.e. Corral) by midseason.

    • I complete disagree. Who is available is extremely relevant. If you have a couple of players you would be happy with and you can still get them if you trade back, you should do that in a heartbeat. Being afraid that people will lowball you next year is an odd stance. Then you just say no next year, problem solved. In this particular draft you can get a very good player at 46. But to each their own.
    • I don't think so.  Watson really screwed them up.  I see something happening, but do not know what.  Cousins could be had in a trade--but they liked Flacco when he played there.  If it were me, I would not spend the #2 pick on Sanders.  I would go after a tier 2 qb because I think Will Howard is going to start in the NFL soon, and I think Ewers was rated very high at the beginning of the year--he knows adversity and he beat out a Manning while taking Texas to 2 playoff appearances.  I am not good at picking QBs, but I think Howard's run pass option and his accuracy is going to help someone.  Stay in Ohio and play for the Browns behind Flacco--
    • After Cam at #1, there are three or four elite players and there could be a trade--If I am the Giants and I am needed a winning season badly and I have several needs, I might trade out and pick up mid first and an extra second rounder, including a QB--while nobody is going to move up to #3 for Sanders, they might for Carter or Hunter.  If the Giants then move back, Sanders could still be in play.  That could be the trade in the top 3.  New England wants Campbell and I get that; Jacksonville at #5 could move back if someone wants Graham or Jeanty.  But barring some trade, the top 4 are probably locked in. So it could be 2 hours into the draft before we get any surprises. Nice list, by the way--you nailed it.
