They are basically raw--either unfamiliar with the scheme, each other, or the NFL.

Offense: could have 3 rookies starting (Zavala, Young, Mingo) along with Chark, Theilen, Sanders, and Hurst (4)--meaning that as many as seven *(7) starting offense is new from 2022.

Defense:  Tuttle, Brown, Bell, Houston, and Woods (5) are starting newcomers

In other words, over HALF of the STARTERS from 2022 are new to the Panthers, as is the coaching staff.

We really do not know what we have.

Fans are not known for patience, but that's what they are gonna need this season.  You cannot turn a turd into a diamond necklace overnight.

Matt Rhule said he they all had a part in it and he wasn't running things like some in the media suggested simply because someone found out a line existed in a contract.   That seemed to always annoy Rhule.  Rhule and Fitt basically both acknowledge the same reality.  When employed together and when not. 

and Rhule spoke on not wielding that language like a king the day Fitt was hired and when he was asked to leave.

but good on Fitt for putting things in prospective for folks.  Some of the fanbase were putting the bar on what to expect from a rookie QB on absurd levels.   The finish is what is going to matter.  It should be a normal and bumpy start.

This. There is difference between taking the high road and exactly being honest about what happened. They both sat in on those meetings and collaborated in evaluations. Decisions were made with everybody being comfortable its never just one person. More importantly when a coach or GM gets fired they almost always throw the blame or give elaborate excuses and you can best believe they do same thing when applying for other jobs. Rivera was no different.

Yeah I'm sure I saw an on camera interview where Rhule said he didn't have the time or inclination to run everything or act as some sort of co-gm. He left the GM stuff to Fitt was the impression I got from the interview. Now was he lying? Who knows?
