Waiver/ Practice Squad options

Kaye theorizes the Panthers could actually take a look at Bailey Zappe, among others.

On Zappe:

Matt Corral had an up-an-down preseason, so it’s fair to wonder if he is long for the roster. Zappe, a 2022 fourth-round pick, started four games as a rookie and flashed a bit in his playing time. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound signal-caller could be viewed as an upgrade for the squad as the third quarterback. Zappe was cut by the Patriots after he threw for 781 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions in his first year with the team.

Other options Kaye mentions include RB Dewayne McBride and DT Ross Blacklock

Damn.  Well, thanks to the asshole tweeters who said he had already been waived.  Smh...  I hate this era of "reporting."

I think some of the original tweets got bumped back up. I remember seeing that after I'd already seen the news of his trade. Had to do a double take 😕

Confirmation here:

CB depth has to be the priority.  Our starting CB's have 7 years of NFL experience between them, and of those seven years only one year (DJax rookie) have they played in every game.  I'm not sure how you can even argue that our CB's aren't injury prone.

It just hit me...  Did we cut Wright?  I don't remember seeing his name yesterday.

No, we didn't. He made it...at least as much as anybody else that was on the bubble has made it (for the moment).

Edit: Correction, Rejzohn Wright was waived. When you said Wright I was thinking Derek Wright 😣

    • My issue too is form Icky to Hunt you would have had young studs under contract control for the next 3 years, unreal if you have that on a NFL team.
    • I maybe huffin the hopuim too much for the defense during 2 games winning.   If DJ played like that each game(??), DBrown, Turlte, ARob(who's been like Dbrown), clowny   That's a solid front 5, or is it too much homer huffin??   Then Jewell and Shaq   Again solid, not trash or elite.   Horn(heathly) Mike Jackson. Dane Jackson, Woods, and Fuller   I swear the "solid" enough feels are here again   Of course Id love to drop a elite edge and have DJ come off the bench or another stud CB, but I swear if that group was 100% healthy I feel they'd be around 18th best. (yes still need a true NT).  Please correct me.
    • You are probably right, but as long as he goes to Dallas, and not here, it will be fun to watch.  Or better yet, New Orleans.
