Yeah I don’t think anyone actually believes Corral has a snowball’s chance in hell of taking the job from Young. That’s a big stretch.

It's not a stretch. It's just not going to happen. Tepper is too involved in Front Office and roster decisions, in my opinion. Then you have the economics of the situation. Then you have the fact that Corral just hasn't had the reps. I'd guess that Bryce has already had more reps in one off-season than Corral got in two.

That said, you keep him as a third unless you're keeping five running backs, which judging by Sander's injury history, I'd say is a good idea.

Nobody thought Kirk Cousins would take the job from RG3 either. I dont want that to happen but anything can happen at any time which leads me to ask then why so much hate for Corral from certain people then?

Luton threw a horrible pick mainly because he was running for his life in the endzone thanks to Jordan and Coleman but he has had some good touch on passes.

I almost like his release better than Corral’s. Idk what it is but Corral’s passes seem to take forever to leave his hand and they come out with no zip.

It's possible.  I doubt they could given that he's not played very much.

There is no doubt in my mind that corral has talent. My question is does he have NFL mentality?

I watched a Saints game where Andy Dalton threw back to back pick six interceptions.  I believe Andy is a quarterback you do not want as your starter.   I think he is mediocre, but he is stable enough to carry the team until your starting quarterback is ready to play.

No backup is consistent enough to carry a team. If they were they wouldn't be backups.  Corral is like most rookies that are not being developed to be the number 1 qb. Who knows if he could become more consistent if given time to develop?  It's looking kinda scary if we need a backup qb for more than a series or two.

I miss the Derek Anderson QB2 days. What a luxury. He was the best QB2 in the NFL for a few years, IMO.

I really feel that that is Andy Dalton's role now.  He could be starting for a few teams, not many, but a few.  If we had to keep it rolling for 2-4 games I could calmly get behind old big red.

    • The other draft picks have turned out pretty well. Brooks will too.
    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
