I think Ophelia has took some people by surprise. On the weather this morning they were saying it wouldn't quite get tropical storm strength. On the weather a few minutes ago they were saying it might hit cat 1 strength before it hits land now. It got strong quick today.

National Hurricane Center's 5:00 update has it at 70 MPH max sustained winds.  It could easily reach hurricane strength before landfall.  Some parts of southeast NC will probably get hurricane force winds.
