These preseason meltdowns. I don’t think in my 27 years of watching this team I have ever seen so many people dooming and glooming about stuff that happens during the preseason.
Heck I rarely ever watch the preseason except when/if the starters are playing.
I remember in 2011 I didn’t watch any of the draft or preseason so my first exposure to Cam was the Arizona game.
I was told he struggled during the preseason his rookie year. I wonder if people were freaking out as much as this in 2011.
I feel like the troll-doomers are a very loud minority.
This entire preseason, from the fanbase perspective, has been fascinating and hilarious to watch.

just got back, saw Barbie too it was pretty good.

I can't keep up with all of these comments anyways. Obviously the focus is on me as a person, me drinking, and a bunch of other crap rather than focusing on this shitty franchise and product we keep making excuses for.

I'll be bumping this thread at the half way point for sure.

then we'll see what the next excuse is.

I fully expect all the chicken littles out in full force during our brutal pre-bye schedule because you want everybody to be as miserable as you are. So let’s get this out of the way: going into the bye 2-4 would be very positive for where this team is at and how the cards fell with the schedule, but I wouldn’t be shocked if the team was 1-5 or even 0-6 heading into the bye. It’s pretty low hanging fruit to say you’ll come back mid season because chances are the record won’t be great at that point and I’m pretty sure everybody understands that. All the bad teams are on the back half of the schedule.

I want that win against the Falcon.  I predict 3-3 before the bye.

I feel like this needs to be said, but OP I think literally nobody is condemning you for drinking on a Friday night. It’s more that whatever drinking you did during a practice football game somehow turned you into the Loch Ness Karen. Like if preseason football with a few drinks gets you this wound up I’d hate to see what happens if your Little Caesar’s pizza isn’t hot and ready the minute you walk in the store.

Slightly different though. Rookie Cam had Smitty and Olsen and a rocket arm to challenge defenses immediately. He was also underestimated as a thrower going into the season.

You really are a sad excuse for a human being. Be better or don’t and continue to let a sports team ruin your life.

Then you’d think people would have a bit more patience with this team knowing we have no Smitty or Olsen. But I guess not.

Maybe. Not league wide though. Back then people thought Smitty was on the decline and Cam wasn’t  “cerebral “ enough to excel.

    • As I said less than 10 minutes into the game, Boston looks nothing like we're used to seeing. Regardless, any curb-stomping of the Bruins is welcome.  The scorers all got the glory tonight, but all 6 D-men had excellent games. Across the board- Gost, Orlov, Chatty, Walker and, of course, Slavin & Burns.
    • I just tried a few mock draft simulators and this is the only way lol. Nothing else makes sense.
    • No, biggest weakness is pass rush, but I don't think there is a blue chip can't miss DE prospect to take at #1 this year, same as with QB.  But beyond that, moving forward, yea WR is a pretty damn big weakness. We have 1 game this season over 224 yards passing and just traded away our best WR (who wasn't going to re-sign here anyways).  That WR no longer on the team was also the only player we've had this year who had over 78 yards receiving in a game.  So again, yea, WR is one of our biggest weaknesses even right now, let alone moving into the future. As I just said in my other post, I love Legette, but he's not going to be a Top 5-10 WR type of guy, Top 15-20 I can see, I think he can be a good #1 WR or an elite #2. After that, what do we have for the future?  Thielen isn't part of it, sure as hell isn't going to be Mingo, and as much as we all like Coker, in no world is Coker as our #2 to Legette as the #1 going be considered as "having weapons" at WR, even with Brooks and Sanders. But put someone like T-Mac into that group, who I genuinely think is going to be a Top 5 WR in this league for a long time, and it changes things.  A Top 5 WR with Legette/Coker as the 2/3, along with Brooks and Sanders, has the potential to be one of the best set of offensive weapons in the league if they reach their potential.
