I found a routine that has worked for me. About 3 months ago I decided enough was enough and decided to change my lifestyle. I was 242 pounds at the time. My routine was pretty simple I started fasting!

That's right fasting along with normal gym routine has me down 14 pounds in 3 months. Im now 228 pounds and still planning to lose more weight. My ultimate goal is to be 200 pounds.

I don't fast everyday because that is not healthy for your longterm health. I have a set schedule of days that I fast that is Sunday/Monday/Tuesday. I only eat 1 meal a day during those days usually at 6pm is when I eat my meal. Those other days are 2 meals and usually 1700 calories or lower for whatever I eat. I feel so much better and im energized every day. This is a big change for me, but man I feel so much better than I did before.

You can do it people! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! All it takes is dedication and a change in your eating habits. Fasting works!

I've dropped 15 pounds since I started swimming almost every day. I got up to 232 was around 190 when i met my wife 5 years ago. 217 now and decided to cut out sodas and should drop another 17 pounds by end of next month.  I would like to get down to 200 and then start adding muscle again but i think im too old and busy for that. In my younger days I was around 235 in really good shape

Yeah im doing both cardio and weight lifting. Instead of drinking sodas I drink the Mtn dew energy drinks with 25 calories and 0 sugar. So anytime im craving a soda I just drink those as a substitute.

Im about to be 34 in November my goal is to be 215 pounds which is another 13 pounds.

I speed up my metabolism system and I can eat whatever these days.  Recently, I start working out again and want to get to around 185lbs.  Four years ago, I was 240lbs but was able to drop to 178lbs in 5 months by simply cutting out alcohol and sweets and doing 30 minutes of cardio every day.

Did you mean 78lbs?

Fasting is a lazy, short term way to lose weight and you learn absolutely nothing from it. That’s why people who fast can never keep it off. And keeping it off is 100x harder than losing weight.

You’d be far better off learning to  feed your body not your appetite, leaning how to do that, and then learning portion control. That will help you more long term, with less emphasis on instant results. The time you lose weight is NOT the highlight. Even the OP is filled with referencing time frames. It means nothing. You are trying to recreate a lifestyle not kill a habit.

Let me ask you this, why eat nothing at all when you can eat foods rich in vitamins and macronutrients that will support your body and build a healthy system/physique?

There is no good answer for that and reality is, is because you lack discipline or would literally rather starve yourselves than eat a fully healthy meal.

Fasting is only a tool for morbidly obese imo. Also, some people thinks not eating for a couple meals or a day is fasting. It’s not. That shows a lack of understanding of just how much calories/food your body actually needs. It’s FAR lower than what most people thinks and are used to. Americans anyway.

There is a lot of data that shows that fasting is very healthy for you. I would also argue that fasting regularly like OP is doing takes a LOT of discipline (while also exercising)

While I agree some people will temporarily fast to drop a few pounds thats not what this discussion is about.

There is more than 1 way to lose weight and keep it off. I think people need to find what works for them and stick with it. Short term diets (as you mention) dont work. But there are many ways to lose weight healthily and effectively.

Do your research.

Fasting works for all people. If you can't keep it off it's because you're either not working out daily or just not fasting correctly.

I fast 3 days out of the week and eat my regular breakfast and dinner the other days. I been losing 2 pounds a week with this method.

Discipline is the key. The first month was kind of hard I would get headaches on my fasting days. Then your body gets use to it. Sometimes I would fast and forget it was time for me to eat. It works if you're disciplined and continue to exercise. I also feel a lot more energized.

I have a pretty in depth weight loss program...  Thinking about writing a book one day...  Here's what it will say....

Eat better and less....  Exercise...

Thats the book.....

That what fasting is. Calorie deficit.

Exercise is what helps you lose weight at a faster pace.

    • The other draft picks have turned out pretty well. Brooks will too.
    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
