I read the following:

"Bryce Young and Matt Corral were under constant duress. Whether it was the first team or the backups, nobody aside from perhaps starting left guard Brady Christensen can look back on their performance fondly."

Did Christensen suck less that the rest of the line? I wasn't able to watch the game Saturday.

No, Christensen and Icky both got burned on stunts...as if they hadn't played  a season together last year.

Good for Moore. But the single pass from Fields to Moore in that game was a screen pass parallel to the los. So it is hard to say anything about their connection at this point.

Hence the "we shall see, just preseason" statement.  All reports from camp have been saying they have had very good chemistry.  Truth is, nobody knows how it will turn out, but I am liking what I am seeing & reports coming out of camp.

The hatred on this forum for Corral is amazing.  Young goes 4-6 66.7% for 21 yds and the blame goes to the offensive line. Rightfully So. Corral doesn't light up the world and he sucks. (15-22 126yd 68.2% 0TD 1 Int) This mainly comes from the same group of people that said he sucked after Fhules Debacle on the QB position last year.  God knows you all to be wrong.

Others believe he had a decent week considering the play of the offensive line and him not playing for nearly a year.   It behooves us that he improves.  One, Dalton isn't going to be around forever, two a good young backup helps us if we happen to lose Young. Three, the backups available at this moment are far worse than a young Corral. Four, which could happen especially for a young team. Corral is traded for picks.  I am sure there are more reasons to hope he improves.

Carolina Panthers News: Matt Corral, Frank Reich, Bryce Young and Amare Barno (catcrave.com)

Yeah I know, it was against scrubs that won't make the NFL roster.  This is Corral's fault?

I am pulling for Young to be our savior.  I think he really is going to be very good once the regular season starts.  The weekly fear will be, is this the week he gets cremated by a 350 DT and survives?

Christensen picked up the man moving inside. It was Icky that got beat.

Unless you're calling out a later play that got Christensen ofc (I'm not recalling any, but plan on watching the all-22 during meetings today 👀)

It’s the eye test for me. Corral looks lost and uncomfortable in the pocket. The third stringer got the Jets looked worlds better than Corral

Agreed there is no reason to get ride of Corral especially with the new rules where you can keep a 3rd qb on the inactive roster so he doesnt take up a roster spot

Lets face it, he is basically a rookie all over again. He may look lost at times. He did show some nice ability to complete a pass though which has been hard to find in a Panthers QB since healthy Cam in his prime.

That's not the play I was referring to.

Do you recall when that play took place? I just watched all three of the first offensive series that Christensen participated in (he didn't play after that) and he wasn't beaten by a single stunt. In fact, he picked up three stunts including the one Icky missed.

The only two negative plays were a play where he got pushed back a yard but went no further and another play where he got pushed back a good bit but wasn't the reason for the sack.

EDIT: I think that you're mistaking Christensen for Mays. During the first preseason game Bryce gets hit on the overthrow to DJ Chark. The hit came as a result of Cade Mays not picking up the stunt. That might have been what you saw.

I agree on keeping a third QB. Just not Corral. Let’s see what Luton has

personally i'd rather see what Corral (who essentially had a redshirt year in a terrible environment but now has a good mentor in Dalton and good QB coaches) can do rather than a qb who is on his 6th team in 4 years and in his 3 career starts comitted 8 turnovers (granted it was his rookie year). Luton hasnt exactly lit it up in preseason either. last year he was 22/38 (58%) for 186 (4.9 YPA/8.6 YPC) 0 TD and 1 INT
