I hate people who visit during a game.  Once we had family from KY arrive late when the Panthers were entering overtime vs. the Rams in that famous playoff game.  I told them I would greet them later, and they thought it was funny to step in front of the TV on several occasions.  I literally got visibly and audibly angry.  When Smitty caught the X Clown and scored, they realized how big the moment was and apologized.  I said, "Would you arrive late at your Horse Derby and stand in front of the crowd wearing stupid hats and smug grins while Sunday Silence was crossing the finish line?  Same thing!!  This is how the Hatfields and McCoys started their rivalry---people from KY can't read the room!!".  Never invited them again.

I've gotten to a place where I choose friends and family over any sports or just about anything.

Not sure if that makes me a great fan or not, but I'm ok with that.

Same here.  I still love watching the games, but if its a choice between Sunday afternoon dinner with family and friends, or the game, then family and friends usually wins.

Same for me. My wife decided to have company over and the husband is not a Panthers fan. He's a freaking Patriots fan and a non stop talker on top of that. I see heavy drinking very soon....possibly a confrontation lol.
