yep.  Refs made the ultimate difference.  Those big Bronco plays were all aided by overlooking penalties.   Almost every game changing play the Broncos had included a hit to the head or illegal bat of the ball.   And they won the game off those select plays.

Feels a bit validating to hear him say this at least. Like Greg Olsen said on the same podcast, the Panthers picked the worst time to play their worst game of the year. Everything that could go wrong went wrong, and somehow it was still within reach in the second half.

and I frankly wish Von didn't confirm what we always knew.  Play that game 10 times.  Panthers winning 9 or 8 times.   Sometimes it's better to be lucky.  

But the self-awareness by Von is sort of unique and a cool perspective you don't always see.

However, trading for Joe Thomas when we had the chance sure would've helped a lot for that game in particular. But nope. Gettlemen wanted to keep that first rounder so bad like a dumb ass.

I feel like I need to qualify that number by knowing how many of those 10 times included Ron Rivera coaching us and Wade Phillips coaching for them.

It was a catch. Refs don't botch that one, there is no strip sack, the wheels don't fall off.

 

Peyton Manning's final game was a Super Bowl victory. The league got the story line it wanted. Whether or not they made it happen is left to speculation.

Don't think it matters.   They weren't stopping Carolina without a poo ton of luck.  And the one man show with the horseshoe essentially confirmed that. 

Denver O was a dumpster fire.   Carolina could of won just punting and playing field position.  Wade Phillips doesn't change that.
