Hassan Reddick/Justin Houston

Reddick is 28....Houston is 34. They let Houston walk and then found themselves with out an edge rusher besides Burns. Hoping they had a guy in camp that can do the job.

Looks like they weren't confident enough to start the season with whom they have. Houston had a good season last year so we shall see. He is long in the tooth, but for one or two years he could fill the void.

They have to get the guy in the next draft somehow to groom for the job.

Reddick cost too much and he wanted to go to Philly to contend and fulfill his own goals of playing for the Eagles. Plus he wasn't exactly thrilled to be here based on some of his own remarks about things leading up to the conclusion of his season here. We gotta move on and stop acting like we had a real shot. Things have worked out for both parties.

Reddick was too much. Move on.

The guy that just had 16 sacks and was an all pro is too much but we are going to pay Burns more than he makes...

I know he wanted to go play in Philly, say that instead of saying he cost too much when we are going to break the bank for a guy who has never had more than 12.5

Perspective is a hell of a thing.

Riddick was nothing but a rental.  Somewhere you missed that memo.

Our front offense wasn't going to pay him when he was never a corner stone of this defense.

Burns is so much more than just a pass rusher, but that all many want to focus on as he's going to get fair market value for his position,  production,  and leadership on this team.

Things have not worked out for the panthers who continued on their dysfunctional circus and losing team. Will things turn around? We will see but let’s not be delusional. Reddick wanted to win, compete, and saw a dumpster fire like Rhule coming a mile away.

Burns is literally just a pass rusher. You can site his leadership, but his main on field contribution is pass rushing.

I know Reddick was a one year rental, but lets not lie about why he wasnt retained. He is on a 3 year 45m contract and we are going to give Burns something like 5 years 140m.

    • They reached for Pickett, so they are not immune to it.  I could see that as well.  I just think the Colts are flying under the radar and they have been too quiet concerning their QB situation--of course, they could think Jones is their guy (they had a good one named Jones a long time ago) but I think they are done with the Richardson experiment.   Even if I believed in Jones, I would still draft a QB--I also read one mock that said the Jets would take Sanders if he falls to 7---I disagree, but I was once wrong and it still bothers me.
    • I just switched to prime video with fanduel south. Will I be able to watch the Canes playoff games still?
    • I mean, you can use that "logic," but the problem is that most practice squad players, backups or average guys don't put the play on film that Wharton did when given their opportunities.  Perhaps you'll end up right, but I don't think that just because a guy has been in a rotation makes him inherently less productive because he gets more snaps. I will say that the KC fans I've seen on social media loved him, and considered him their second best DT,  regardless of his "rotational" status, and generally considered him a dawg, so I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt until he shows otherwise.
