Tertiary Syphilis?

Nope but it is along those lines.

I think the doubters need to put up a little wager with JOAT. I have been here for just a short while but he has always been right on the money. So to all the non believers why dont you all just take a little bet with him if your up to it......

And he built a good team, like usual, only to get fired for Wade Philips of all people, and they've sucked ever since. It would make sense that Cower would be interested in the job and that Jones would initially be interested in the hire. If it does happen, though, it won't last. They'll be at each other's throats within two years.

There's been some schlep on here about how Parcells won no playoff games with the Cowboys. The year before Parcells came to Big D they had one Pro Bowler. By the time he left they had 7. The year after he was gone it hit 13 with the roster Parcells built, and ol' Wade Phillips was one and done in the playoffs. Been all downhill since then. Especially since Parcells raped the Cowboys of all their coaching talent and a GM to boot.

Jerruh never should have run Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells out of town.

It will be the same with Cowher should he go there.

So a friend of mine who is a huge Cowboy fans, knows people within the organization and just flew back from the SD game tells me that Bill Cowher is very likely to be the next Cowboy coach and that Phillips, regardless of how the season plays out is done.

I consider him a very reliable source and have no problem seeing this happening.

Next.

Cowboys give Phillips a three-year deal

Posted by Mike Florio on January 21, 2010 12:18 PM ET

The Dallas Cowboys held an option on Wade Phillips' contract for 2010.

As expected, owner Jerry Jones has decided to pick up the option.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jones also has added two years to the deal.

So it's a three-year contract (or a two-year extension), which puts Phillips under contract through 2012.

And, as we mentioned a little bit ago, the devil will be in the details. For example, the final year of the new contract might also be an option year, which would allow the Cowboys to walk away with no financial obligation.

Regardless, Wade will be back next year.

There was a lot of belief amongst NFL analysts that Wade was toast this season. Conventional wisdom now is that somewhere along the way, Jones changed his mind.

Could be based on the playoff win and resulting fanbase excitement, also could be based on labor uncertainty, or could easily have to do with Jerome Bettis' statement that Cowher really covets the Giants gig.

(the last one is where I'd place my bets)

meh see... what seems to be the problem here, meh see... phillips got an extention, 2011 seems to be the doom year for the NFL, so Fox will get an extension just like many other coaches. if fox doesn't give matt moore the chance to compete for the starting job, his credibility as a coach would be burned to ashes. i've come to terms with fox as the panthers' head coach next season, i like davidson and how he calls the plays, and ron meeks is outstanding. the one change that needed to be made, without a doubt, has been changed, which was special teams. now all we need is a good slot and/or second wide receiver, and a decent back-up nose tackle. some depth at the corner and tight end positions wouldn't be bad either. but i really think our team is close to a championship. changing the coaching staff now would be just plain retarded... and for those who think Hailey's Comet is going to pass over us tonight... just plain ratarded.
