Sunday 8/6 Practice thread

I feel like this is a double edged sword. Like on one end, it’s good to see the defense doing well. On the other end though, you’d like to see more fight from the offense.

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt because they aren’t scheming/game planning on offense. The Joint Practices will be a good test as well as what we see in preseason even if it’s vanilla.

The defense always seems to have the early edge every camp.  So that's not shocking.  If the trend continues after the next couple of weeks, then sound the alarm bells.  Reich even said yesterday that the offense is still doing installs.  I'll wait to see how the offense looks once the entire playbook has been implemented before getting too concerned.

Most fans are in a wait and see mode.  Ok, we got a new quarterback and a new coach.  That's happened before and didn't yield results.  I understand why people are being emotionally cautious with the franchise.  The changes look great on paper, but it needs to translate to the field.

The D is almost alllllways ahead of the the O on every team starting TC.

O has much more moves and timing. Some on D - "you have zone 3" same as the last 5 years....

Not a lot of balls in the air today. More situational work. Bryce Young was 2-5 in 11 vs 11.

CJ Henderson picked off Bryce Young in seven on seven drills. Looked to be a miscommunication with Derek Wright

Several apparent vet days for Shaq Thompson, Hayden Hurst and Adam Thielen.

Miles Sanders is in full pads today after tweaking something yesterday. Frank Reich wasn’t sure what.

Frank Reich says Austin Corbett is ahead of schedule in his recovery from ACL surgery. But Panthers are not going to rush it and he’s definitely not going to be ready for Week 1.
