Has anyone seen any promising signs from this guy in camp? I still can’t get over that we traded up for him, seems like he is not doing much to justify it.

He's a project. I don't prefer drafting projects in the 3rd, especially trading up for em. But we'll see. 
 

TE wasn't a need with Hurst, Thomas and Tommy. 
 

Edge was (still is). Panic move, but it is what it is and we'll just have to see if he starts clicking in year 2. This year will be a bench year for him. Maybe even a mystery injury trip to the IR, as the two undrafted edges seem to be making more initial noise.

I was really hoping we’d pick up Washington, but knew that those making the decisions were focused on defense. Still a little bummed we didn’t pick him up.

Is Johnson also not a project? He’s got some fire in him, but the dude fought with fans, so it just makes me wonder about his mental game. It’s all a gamble anyway, but Washington could have been an offensive threat and an extra blocker for Bryce.

We won't know what type of player he is until the bullets start to fly. Especially with dlineman and olineman it's hard to see what type of player you have until they are on the field playing for real

Hard to say this early in camp, during a year when we drafted a #1 overall QB who eats up most of the articles/oberservation from camp. I feel in depth coverage of all positions is overshadowed by Bryce right now, but even so, camp hype is just camp hype anyway. 
 

Ends/edge tend to need time to develop too, which means the primary issue with him (age) is magnified. 
 

He certainly has the tools/body, and what I hope to see is him, by the end of the season, show he can hold the edge, and flash some pass rush.

 

Im not worried about him, but I understand why people are.

But I'm always going to be all the way out on 24 year old rookies who are still being drafted as raw prospects because they bounced from position to position in college with their program desperately finding a spot where maybe the athletic traits would click.
