Panthers’ Delhomme expected to sit Sunday

Moore can atleast throw down field and attempt to force the Vikes Rush Defense to open up which opens up our running game.

Its impossible for Jake to do this.

So far he has done it 1 time each game. Can and being willing to appear to be pretty far apart. Particularly for someone who has had success both times. If I had Smitty out there he would be getting 3 or 4 deep balls a game at least.

So far Moore has shown me so much more than Delhomme has the entire season. Just his ability to elude the rush when the pocket colapses and make plays when he's under pressure. He doesn't fumble the ball when a defensive lineman simply touches him. His deep ball is far more accurate than Delhommes. Just his overall presence under center gives me so much more confidence. Everytime Delhomme dropped back I couldn't look b/c he always looked hesitant and scared and always seemed to rush throws even when he had more time. Moore shows much more confidence and I feel he should be given a shot the rest of the season to see what we have.

Must be watching a different game than I am. He has rushed twice for -2 yards and has been sacked 3 times in 2 games. Counting the sack in the eagles game that is a total of 4 in roughly 2 games which equates to 2 a game. That is the same ration of sacks per game for the year for Jake as well. Moore has run for no positive yards nor has he shown any elusiveness outside of a designed roll out play. Mobile is usually reserved to describe someone who has actually rushed for yards on the plus side of the line of scrimmage not the backfield.

The only reason Moore doesn't fumble it is that instead of looking down the field for a receiver he has already tucked it and is waiting to go down. It is all part of his conservative, don't screw up style which minimizes mistakes but results in very few points.

If you guys didn't always make out Moore like he was all that great, I wouldn't have to keep setting the record straight. I am fine with Moore playing and will be his biggest fan on Sunday. But he is surely not that great, mobile or savvy at this point. If he continues to play the same conservative, don't screw up style of the past 2 games, we will lucky to score at all on Sunday. We need the gunslinger he is reported to be taking chances and throwing the ball. Otherwise we don't have a chance in hades. Otherwise the only thing I am confident with Moore is that he will heave the ball one time to Smitty and otherwise will continually go three and out while we watch Favre shred us all day.

We should franchise him

Now you're talking...but even better...renegotiate him to a 10 year deal worth $100m. He has a little confidence problem...more money and a 10 year committment should fix that. And if it doesn't, so what? We've inked a deal and a long term relationship with a very nice guy.

saying that moore is better than jake isn't saying much. no one is riding on his jock...more just stating that jake has not done anything this year to show he can be better than what moore is doing now and has, in fact, looked worse and had far worse results.

Moore is very mobile compared to Delhomme....and he has shown that thus far. Calling Moore mobile in comparison to Jake isn't claiming he is a running threat.

This probably won't be a popular view, but who cares: why do you care who wins this coming Sunday? The Panther's season is over. I guess one point of view would be to win out so San Fran doesn't get a top ten pick -- I know I would throw up if that happens...

Worse on turnovers for sure but not on scoring. If Moore wants to be better than Jake was, he has to show that not only can he avoid turning the ball over, but that he can manage the offense, run an efficient 2 minute offense and score points.

I am not saying he can't do it nor am I saying it is his fault given it is hard to know how much the playcalling may be holding him back. Simply that he can be the starter and remain so if he can score 21 points on Sunday while not turning the ball over wildly. Frankly I would take 1 or even 2 picks if he accompanied it with 2 or 3 TD passes as well.
