AK was joking about Stewart to SEA for a 1st rounder

So yall want to break up the only offense we have for a draft pick for a unproven QB. Thanks but no thanks.

In a way, that's why we're advocating a Stewart trade. You said it yourself -- right now, the running game is the only offense we have. I think the difference in our running game as a whole without Stewart would be worth it if it meant we got our franchise quarterback in the first round. I realize that's a big gamble, but it's not like quality running backs are tough to find.

It's funny how many people said in hindsight that we should have taken Flacco instead of Stewart and picked up a running back later, like Choice or Rice, but so few would be willing to now sacrifice Stewart for a first-round quarterback -- even though we now have a prove DeAngelo Williams and two very promising younger guys.

I guess it's easy to say things like that in hindsight, but far tougher to trade away a proven running back for an unproven quarterback.

stew isn't going to net you a 1st rounder, guys. RBs are pretty easy to draft. better off drafting one than trading for a beaten up one who is oft injured. =|

edit: that being said, if he gets you a first rounder, especially a mid-high one, hells yeah. I love stew, I love the offense he generates... but let's be real here... runningback is our deepest position by far and it is also the position we can afford to move up in the draft with.

I said that the day of the draft. Thought the Stewart pick was a wasted pick. Not because of him but the depth of RB's that year. Could have gotten Otah in the first and saved our picks.
