AK was joking about Stewart to SEA for a 1st rounder

I think it would be a great move...but if you think our FO is capable...you're nuts.

Of the trades I've seen in the past by the Panthers...the Harris trade was good...the Otah pick trade was good...the Stewart pick trade is questionable considering other needs...the Brown pick trade was horrible.

I've said we'd be better served to get what we can out of Steve Smith while still extremely valuable, but I get scoffed at. I knew that discussion concerning Stewart would get the same results.

Everytime someone posts about trading Stewart, the IQ of the board drops.

Everytime AK posts the IQ of the board drops.

This thread alone has put us in Atlanta Falcon message board territory.

What's your bright idea? Moore (err, more) Delhomme until he's 40 and having fans watch as the team's realistic opportunity for success disintegrates as it is being sucked into a black hole?

Lack of vision and clarity has come down from on high---from atop Panthers Nation---and has infected the Huddle so bad, that some of us actually enjoy the roller coaster of mediocrity to the point where we revere the Panthers leadership even in our own titles.

So yall want to break up the only offense we have for a draft pick for a unproven QB. Thanks but no thanks.

You cant unconvince dudes on this board that DeAngelo Williams is not superman. They swear he can carry the ball 30-40 times a game all season long with no problem. The worst mistake we've made the past 2 years is thinking putting our entire offense thru him would make us a better team, it hasnt. We need both of our RBs, we need a QB we expect to make plays, and we need to open up our offense. DeAngelo Williams alone isnt good enough to carry this team to where it needs to go.

We arguably have two number 1 backs, and dare I say top 10 backs. Yes, it's great, but to me that it's obvious that this has come with a price, and I hope that I don't have to explain what is already evident to most of us.

In and of itself, the run first philosophy is sound. We have seen it achieve great things throughout NFL history. But, it ironically breaks down when you don't have (number one) a QB and (number two) receivers who can take full advantage of its benefits. History has shown us that we need more than just a caretaker at QB. It is a failed philosophy, and there is something inherently skewed about having a so-so QB that you can count on sometimes when and if the going gets tough. Moreover, when things are running smoothly, you want a QB who will exploit the opposition when they begin to bringing men up in the box by surveying the field, honing in on his target and guiding the ball in with accuracy. Yes, the run sets up the pass, but your field general has to be able to close the deal most of the time.

Now, it is my belief---right or wrong---that there is at least one of the top three QBs is greater than the caretakers that we have now. That being said, being that we have two quality RBs, then I am thinking that it may be worth a try to acquire a first round pick in order to land one of these guys here. I am also thinking that if we could get Justin Forsett in the deal---a back who is arguably a quality guy himself---along with a first, that this may make the pot even sweeter. In the end, if all goes well, we could fill a need without really losing.

Now, of course, the Seahawks might scoff at the idea of letting go of a first, let alone a back who has shown glimpses of being at least very good (and is really beloved by his fan base,) so don't get your panties and/or jockstraps all up in a wad because some of us are trying to discuss what we deem as what may be good solutions to our glaring problems.

Forett and a first, just might be worth Stewart, especially considering our present stable of backs, and especially our need for a high quality QB.

I guess that Goodson, and Sutton (in particular) haven't shown you anything at all, let alone Forsett who actually was near the top in all-purpose yards for the period in which he started this season. Why would Williams have to carry the full load when we have that kind of talent?

That's a rhetorical question.
