If Delhomme Starts Sunday....

Actually Jake was okay the last 2 times he faced Minnesota. His rating last year was 78 and before that in 2005 it was over 100.

Agree with what you said about Moore. I say turn him loose and see what he has.

Geez...I thought we faced the Vikings more times than that...wait, we did.

2005- I believe this was the game Smoot called out Smith. He had a great game. I agree. 3 TDs.

*2006: Week 2 - 17/33 181 YDS 0 TDs 0 Ints 2 Sacks

2008: Week 3 - 17/29 191 YDS 0 TDs 0 Ints 5 Sacks 3 Fumbles, 2 Lost

I'm going off the last two games.

yeah moore suppose to deliver a 3td game in two games........really.......i'll give you a min to rethink that one

bottom line is moore hasn't showed us enough to lose the starting job or win it(yet), for some of you with super high expectations well get over it.

with factors like 5 weeks running with the first offense,i don't see how "he sucks"

Problem for me is that I have tickets to two more home games that I want to win. I suppose it is easy to just write off games when you have no investment in them. Or people can hope for the worst and get in for 5 or 10 bucks a game while those of us who are PSLs pay regular rate no matter how sucky the product.

What does wins do for us this season? Sure I would like for us to beat the Saints but besides that I would rather Moore get the snaps so the coaches can evaluate him. If Moore doesnt pick it up the next 3 games then we can pick up another QB next season. If he shows some promise then we keep him. Jake we know what he can do and with his confidence shot it wouldnt be wise to throw him to the wolves. Let him sit the rest of the season and start over next year. But I do expect a QB compitition next TC. Jake has never really competed for the job since he got here.

Do you go to the games? If you did you would know what home game wins do for the fans. After tailgating all day looking forward to the game and then suffering all the opposing fans as they pop out of the woodwork extolling Favre and how we are going to get killed, it is incredibly sweet when you win the game and hear nothing from them as they quietly go out of our house. On the other hand nothing is as irksome as hearing all the shouts and noise from opposing fans along with the "I told you so"s.

As for Moore or Delhomme, I don't really care who plays as long as they win. Unfortunately it seems to be a big hill to climb in either case. I surely hope I don't see 40 times of running into a brick wall for no yards. It would be nice to come out throwing and set the tone for this game. No one has run well on Minnesota and I doubt we are the exception.

Honestly I will worry about next year in a month. Until then there are three more games and I hope we do what we can to win as many as we can.

    • Remember our cap only counts the highest 51 contracts.  Many of these guys could be had for near or vet minimum contracts.  Cutting those contracts has no real cap ramifications.  Many of these guys played too much last year and didn't serve the role of depth players.  Even though they didn't perform as starters, they could serve a valuable depth pieces.  If we draft well, get healthy, and sign a few quality free agents, many would be in position to play a part of this team that serves both well.   Take a look at this link and you will see some interesting stats in regard to playing time.  FYI, Xavier Woods played 100% and Mike Jackson played nearly 99% of defensive snaps.  They were the only two players above 95%.  Hunt was the next highest at 93% and he missed the final game. Unrestricted FA's QB Andy Dalton - I like him, but we could get someone like Cooper Rush or Minshew for the same $$$$ we are paying him. C Austin Corbett - Incentive laden and team friendly C Brady Christensen - top swing OL pay replace Yosh Nijman TE Tommy Tremble - Lock him up now, multi-year cheap.  He's not even 25.  He will get much better. TE Ian Thomas TE Feleipe Franks - ST minimum deal WR David Moore - minimum deal RB Mike Boone DE DeShawn Williams - minimum deal (PS?) OLB Cam Gill LB Shaq Thompson - only if it is a minimum with incentives.  Think late career TD or Jeremiah Trotter.  Player coach CB Mike Jackson - He's going to cost more than we think, but keep the man!! CB Caleb Farley - minimum deal to prove it if he is FINALLY healthy S Xavier Woods S Jordan Fuller S Nick Scott S Sam Franklin - not breaking the bank.  He is ST only. S Lonnie Johnson P Johnny Hekker - if the price is right K Eddy Piñeiro LS JJ Jansen - Can't remember a bad snap over the past 10 years.  According to Google is hasn't happened since 2010.  Resign tomorrow. RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS  C Cade Mays - 3 million right of first refusal. WR Deven Thompkins - minimum deal RB Raheem Blackshear - minimum deal.  I like him, but he didn't show much when given his shot on offense. WR Velus Jones Jr. WR Dan Chisena - minimum (PS) EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS FREE AGENTS DE LaBryan Ray - It's cheap, bottom roster PS guy LB Chandler Wooten - It's cheap, bottom roster PS guy
    • Maybe he has grown, but his play calling/style was AWFUL when he was here. Please don't try to remember this with rose colored glasses after the fact.  Your average fan could predict the plays at home most of the time. We were not running an NFL offense and it 100% showed.  Glad he is doing well for himself, but the decision to let him go at the time was 100% right.
    • And then there's this... I c certainly don't feel like parting with Canales, but the silly, speculative part of me wonders what we could get for him 😄
