Delhomme will be starting next week!!!!

David Carr had a better completion percentage when he came here but was he better? So far Moore is 1-1 but for all intents and purposes he could be 0-2. Tell me when have we had 5 turnovers committed by another team and we lost this year. When have we had even 3 turnovers and lost? Moore has had 2 good defensive outings in his benefit. Otherwise his 14 1/2 points would have beat no one. He didn't beat Tampa, the defense did.

I am not saying he played bad but so far he hasn't won the job at all. There would be much more of a temptation tosee whether good jake could surface versus this "he doesn't suck" Moore for the remainder.

the good Jake is gone. There is only "the worst QB in the NFL Jake" and "medicore Jake"

as far as Tampa? If Jake gave that type of performance in several games we lost....we probably would have won several more games this year. Jake played a worst game against Tampa than Moore did also....and Tampa was improved when Moore faced them.

Moore is no better than Delhomme.

He had 3-4 balls yesterday that shoudl have been intercepted....the only saving grace is that the Pats DB's suck.

well, if we are counting balls that should have been intercepted then Jake's horrific numbers go even higher. Both QB's suck....Moore doesn't have the fumble risk and can at least lob a catchable deep ball. Easy answer as to who should finish out the season.

With Moore at the helm, I at least want to watch the games. As Moore is being watch for every little mistake, he still is better than Fake. It's funny how folks point out Moore's getting lucky on INTs and overthrowing/under throwing the passes...makes me wonder if they even watch the games that Flake is at the helm. Not to mention the fumbles and less mobility Fake is compared to Moore. Cause if they did watch Flake in action, they would NEVER EVER bring some weak excuse, like getting lucky with INTs up...lol

You do realize that the only person who sounds ignorant after that post is you....

Fox may not be coaching this team the way we think is right, but calling people those kinds of names only makes us look like the immature, ignorant, and uneducated ones.

I hope that you are about 16 years old. Then, I can understand your attitude. If you are an adult making those posts.....well, God Help You.

Fox is very nice person (and I know him personally)....he does A TON for this community (charity work)....and cares deeply about the Panthers. His stubborness often gets in his way. But to call him a worthless pile of poo is not only uncalled for, it is dead wrong.

agreed, very true MadHatter, look I like Fox, I just think he is a more defensive minded coach. This season really has revolved around the offensive troubles and injuries. One of those you can't prevent and the other... well lets just say Fox lost on his gambles.

The absolute worst thing that could happen:

Delhomme gets the start and absolutely shreds the Vikings Defense.... oh my just thinking of that gives me the chills. Regardless, Jake will be on this team next year and I don't necessarily disagree with that... as long as he is a backup!

First off as other posters have mentioned, NO where did they say Jake would be playing/starting. All it ever mentioned was that Jake has the possiblilty of returning back to practise.

While Moore isnt exactly as flashy bad as Jake is, he has been arguably as bad at getting the offence points. Weve scored two touchdowns in the last two games. He hasnt been as bad as bad Jake this season. But he also hasnt been as good as good Jake has this season which albeit was rare.

You were wrong in the other thread when you said this and wrong again. Who has the top 3 passer ratings this year for the panthers. Jake.

Who is the only quarterback to throw 2 TDs in a game. Jake

He is also the only guy to throw multiple picks and have a passer rating under 40 this year. But Jake can move the offense and score points as well as give them away. Still he did not have the defensive support that Moore has had except in one game which was Arizona and we killled them.

How was Tampa improved with 5 Ints and a fumble for 6 turnovers and a passer rating of 36 for Freeman versus I int and a passer rating of 67.5 the first time with Johnson.

So because Jake threw 2 TDs in one game out of 11 he is better than Moore who has only started two games the whole season? We can play the cherry picking statistics game if you want, only there's a lot more out there that are against Jake: 6 out of Delhomme's 11 games have seen him have a worse rating than either of Moore's 2 starts so far, and only in 3 out of 11 games has he put up a better rating than Moore did on Sunday (you know the one that supposedly proves he sucks and Jake deserves to start again). Moore's game against Tampa was far superior to Delhomme's, especially when you consider that Jake had Gross and Deangelo and Moore didn't. How about the 267 yards that we ran for in the first Tampa game versus the 157 in the second one? Or how about the defense only giving up 245 yards in the first game versus 469 the second game? Jake wasn't heavy lifting us to victory in the first game either with his valiant effort of 65 yards passing, 2 INTs one of which was returned for a TD either.

The sad thing is that Moore hasn't played well - yet Jake's play has been so awful that it truly does not take much to exceed our low expectations.

Going from this tidbit to assuming that Delhomme starts next week is a stretch.

Would Fox do it if he were healthy enough, though? My gut says yes.

And be assured, Fox has no interest in evaluating for the future. More likely he wants to save his job, and in all likelihood Fox still truly believes that Jake gives them the best chance to win (evidence to the contrary be damned).

Sad to say right now that's like a drowning man grabbing an anchor.

No one was playing the cherry picking game> He said that Jake's 11 games were all worse than Moore's 2 games and that there was no longer any good Jake just bad and mediocre. I pointed out where he was incorrect.

You went a long way to prove what? That Jake has had some bad games. Then you mention the Tampa game and say moore's performance was better than Jake's without noting that the defense saved the Panthers 5 times in the redzone and without that we get drubbed. Moore was handed that game and had to do very little to win it. I seriously doubt his numbers look very good if he had to have come out slinging it to get back in the game.

And my point remains that Jake has had our best games and our worst games. But unless Moore can lead the offense to more than 13 points a game, we are going to lose the next 3 games badly. For my money I would give moore one more game. If he doesn't move the offense again, I trot out Jake simple as that.

What evidence it there to assume that Moore can lead the offense to score enough points to beat any of the next 3 teams? Moore not throwing as many pics is still not enough to start him when our third down efficiency plumments from 36% to 25% and we have few sustained drives or the ability to move the ball in the no huddle or when needed based on the small sampling of games by Moore this year.

The deciison seems to be to take a high risk, high reward with Jake or lower risk lower reward with Moore.

    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
    • The bottom lines to me are that a) we played well enough to beat the best team in the league and b) Bryce Young is growing into a bridge QB role (his ceiling) for us. As much as I don't want BY around after the season, it seems DC can still build the O with a game manager at QB for now. Best case scanario, we can build the D through the draft this year and take a QB we have conviction outside the 1st this or next draft. If BY keeps improving, we are going to win a couple more games this year.
    • Bryce has been a completely different QB since coming back. That started in Denver where it was obviously he was playing a lot more loose and willing to push the ball downfield  Bryce continues to build off of the previous weeks performance and that’s what you want to see Bryce has been making some real good anticipation throws. Reading defenses well. Pushing the ball downfield (7 throws of 20+ air yards yesterday. 8 if you want to include PI to Thielen). The deep ball accuracy has been there. Some of Young’s best throws yesterday were incompletions. Sideline balls to XL and Moore both should’ve been caught. RZ dot to Tremble should’ve been caught. And another RZ ball to Moore that Young gave him a chance at. Bryce is starting to execute Canales offense and yesterday Canales finally opened it up a bit. Canales was to blame for the 126 passing yards in Germany as he played a more conservative game.  The next bit I’m looking for his for Young to be a bit more decisive with running the ball. Start putting that on film and it’ll help open things up a tad
