“He’s earned the trust of Bryce,” Jefferson said of Chark. “Any time Bryce sees him out there one-on-one, Bryce is gonna take a chance. He’s earned that right from Bryce.”

^^this! I’ve brought this up several times, our offense has been missing a QB that consistently takes a calculated risk and gives the receiver a 50/50 ball. That’s how magic happens and we have had no magic lol. We are going to see some different types of plays made, finally…

Man if this guy hits it would be huge.

The only thing that might stop him is injury. Stay away from that, and he's golden. The talent was never the question, at least in my mind. The relatively low financial investment in him is well worth the risk, because it provides a great value for a season, and gives us a bird's-eye view of his potential impact upon the NFL. As his incumbent team, we should have a leg up if everything goes well.

Hes got the potential to be a very big signing for us.  If he can stay healthy I think he can replace the 1000 yards and 4 TDs that Moore gave us every year.  I think he can potentially be a 1200-1300 yard 10 TD guy.  Hes always produced when in the game.  I mean, if you can go over 1000 yards on that Jacksonville team with Minshew and Foles throwing the ball, it could be something special with Bryce Young.

I hope what ever ailed him is fixed for sure because he’s a threat catching the ball. I went through his game logs and after his 2021 injury I don’t think he was fully healed when he started out 2022 but once he was back with the 2nd half of the season in Detroit he really picked up where he left off.

I remember in 2019 when we played Jacksonville and McCaffrey went crazy on the Jaguars, we still were in jeopardy of losing that game to the Gardner Minshew Jaguars because seemingly no one could keep up with Chark he had 2 or 3 Tds on us that day.

We pulled it out in the end because our back up running back broke off a 64 yard run when McCaffrey went out late in the game.

But from that time I've always followed Charks career being a big Fantasy guy. Excited to see what he can do this year if healthy.

I think you nailed it.  Something wasn't right about Chark when he got to Detroit.  He played the first few games and then the coaching staff shut him down for the next 6 weeks, and only played him 11 snaps in his first game back.  He had some issues getting on the same page with Goff but quickly ironed those out.  He has a long interview with the St Brown brothers on youtube if anyone is interested.  As he eluded to on the show, the fact that he has never been able to rely on a single QB in his entire career is what has led to him being able to get on the same page with new QBs quickly.

DJ Chark definitely falls into the category of a guy who just needs to be on the field.  His ability to make plays and stress a defense is without question.  He has a good feel for the game and isn't just a chunk play specialist.  He will do the dirty work if that's what he is tasked with, taking hits over the middle and holding onto the ball.  That last part is something that also adds to Chark's game.  He doesn't have to beat a guy with speed to make a chunk play downfield.  The guy can be stride for stride with DJ and he has a knack for perfectly positioning his body to stack the corner and allow the ball to fall into his hands.

    • I don't get the Hunter hate. Just imagine his ceiling if he stopped trying to be this 2way freak and focused on one side of the ball
    • 100%.  You have to play the cards that are dealt.  Not the cards you wish were dealt.
    • I'd say its definitely going to be addressed this off-season.  We went into the last draft with a roster of RBs including:  Chubba, Blackshear, and Miles Sanders. We picked Jonathan Brooks in the second and still signed Rashaad Penny afterwards.  Fast forward....One turned into a top 10 back, 1 is injured/out for most if not all the '25 season, 1 retired, 1 will either take a huge paycut or be cut, and the last is a restricted free agent. We brought in Mike Boone as well. Add him to the free agent list also.  We need a physical option.    Which qualifies:  Ashton Jeanty(Boise St): Overall ranked Top 10. Almost 2k yards after contact, 28 tds. Would take our first rounder. My money would be on an NFC East team selecting him. (97.2 PFF run grade) - 121 forced missed tackles.  Omarion Hampton(UNC): Ranked everywhere from 20 - 59 overall. Consensus #2 back after Jeanty. He'll be a second rounder. 1,222 Yards after contact w/ 15 tds.  (90.5 PFF run grade) - 72 forced missed Tackles Kaleb Johnson(Iowa): Ranked from 38 - 69 depending on which media outlet you prefer but generally #3. 2nd/3rd possibly. 1,060 Yards after contact w/ 21 tds.(86.7 PFF run grade)- 66 forced missed tackles Cam Skattebo: Ranked from the 50's - 104. Every mock I do he ends up BPA at some point. 969 Yards after contact w/ 17 tds(92 PFF Run Grade). Probably the best receiving back of the group. 81 forced missed tackles.  If the '24 and '25 draft classes were combined, IMO the rankings would be, in order: Jeanty, Hampton, Brooks, Johnson, Skattebo. I wouldn't take one high but I'd take one for Chubba and Brooks insurance.
