Laser, Shields, Armor = Yes

Fuel and probes = only if you really enjoy probing and want to probe EVERY PLANET.

I probed every planet in four different nebulas and ended up with 200,000 of each resource at the end of the game (except element zero)

I somehow managed to not lose a single squad member. Hence my conflicting feelings as it's SUPPOSED to be a suicide mission and I literally do one playthrough and my entire crew is fine :\

Some dipshit did a barebones run in 11 HOURS and lost everyone including Shepard in the final mission. I watched the vids and I think that's what's screwing me up emotionally. The ending for everyone dying is so much more epic.

who lives or dies is a reflection of how many ship upgrades you performed, how loyal your team is, how many members it has, and who you choose to do various tasks on the final mission.

Talk to your sexy assistant Kelly. She'll let you know when one of your crew members wants to speak to you. From there, once you talk to them they'll give you the scoop and you can go do the mission. You have to take the quest giver along on the mission though.
