Anybody else think we are putting to much on Bryce's plate?

This entire idea hinges on the fact that anyone from the Panthers organization are going to tell the media anything with substance that shows their hand or gives away their long term plans.  Fans take too much stock in what they tell the media.

None of these is in the last decade and Flacco was drafted 18th ovr.. indicating that they had a pretty good team already that's why I said rookie QB taken in the top 10

In 2008 the ravens and the falcons had a top 5 rushing attack.  In 2009 the jets had the #1 rushing attack.

These things matter.  Now if you tell me we could have a top 5 running game I would be more inclined to think we have a shot.   But I seriously doubt a rookie qb can put us on his back and either win the division or win a wild card.  But the history and stats show it’s an abnormally.

edit to say the jets had the best defense as well and the ravens were top 5 in 2008

First you say it hasn't worked in the Modern Era, now you are adding running teams. Who cares?

All that matters is that teams with Rookie QB and 1st year Head Coaches can make the Playoffs. Isn't that the goal? Isn't that what we all want? Why does that seem to scare ppl?

This is the time of year to be optimistic. Most fans couldn't care less about what the odds are. They are just excited for what's coming down the pike. And just nod and smile at the Temper your Expectations crowd.

2008-9 nfl was a totally different animal then it is now.   And it doesn’t matter what the goal is or optimism it’s just simple facts that the odds are astronomical that a rookie qb can get us in the playoffs in his first year.  People need to temper expectations.   And like I said once we work on the defense next off season I think 2024 is the year to expect big things.

Nah, OL has had considerable investment which is the #1 thing that makes a QBs job easier, much more important than pass catchers. We have a good mix of young receivers with potential and vets, more talent at the skill positions can come in time. Also paid up for the top RB on the market to help take pressure of Bryce. I think he's in a very good position as a rookie, better than any other #1 overall pick.

Cam always was the HEAD of the best rushing attack in the NFL for 5 straight years.. Bryce won't be doing that so can't compare situations and Marshall is in year what now 3? And hasn't surpassed 550? I can't rely on him at ALL

And Bryce can throw much better than Cam so they are both very different. But they were both number 1 picks and both had offenses built around them. And the fact that Marshall played so much better once Rhule was gone suggests he is going to have a break out season this year.

Bryce likes to eat football. That's his thing.

As for WRs, he not only has Mingo, but TMJ as well. Moreover, I wouldn't discount Tremble just yet. Along with the other guys, he should have enough to quell his appetite for all things football his rookie year (and hopefully beyond).

I don’t think so.  We went out and aggressively signed a good RB, a good TE, 2 good WRs, and drafted another WR pretty high.  The team did a good job surrounding him with help.  The OL is already in good shape.

We also spent 5 premium picks on Young.

If he's not the saviour then Fitterer and his pals are fired in the next year or so.
